Well I have been busy sorting a few things on the Boxster and making it a bit more presentable, so here is a quick run down of what has been happening so far. Wheels refurbed Porsche GT Silver (2011 shade) centres and hyper silver rim Carbon detailing in interior. Tinted rear screen. Detailed Callipers painted. Tinting. Carbon Wrapping. Detailing. See told you painting a car was child’s play!!! Just because you never see it does not mean it should not be clean! Engine heat shield getting polished and seals fed. New bits and bobs. Interior cleaned and striped. A few pics at Shane’s Castle. hope u like Rollo
Looks great Ronnie, the fresh paint and CF make a big difference. My 7-year old daughter came outside out of the blue the other day and helped me clean some wheels. It was great fun and a good bonding moment.
Looks good! How long do you expect those calipers to last before the paint starts chipping away though?
That is one well put together boxster! I'm impressed with the fact you painted those calipers on the car like that, you have a lot of patience with masking! Thanks for sharing with us.
Great work. I need to touch up my Brembo calipers, maybe I might go the same route. What did you use for carbon fiber? Mike
Many thanks for the great comments guys much appreciated! I put the 2 axle stands on the front wishbones where they join to the car as a safety point and used the jacking point s with trolly jacks I then jacked up the rear and placed stands on the engine cradle I always use the jacke to take the weight and the stands as a back up with the jar just resting on them. Normally I only remove 2 wheels at a time for safety. but if 4 come off then I use the stands. for most cars a quick google will tell you where to place them properly. it was 3M dilock carbon film took a bit of practise for the tricky bits but its pretty easy to work with to be honest.
