Since I haven't been given a clean bill of health yet to ride from the doctor, I started up my bike the other day while leaving it on the lift. I had put 1/2 a can of Seafoam in the tank and opened the petcock and let it dwell for a few days. It sounds great I think. You can see it rock on the stand when I blip it.

Dave..it is doing fine. I'm still walking distances with the cane but am OK for short walks. I'm trying to concentrate on proper heel/toe and not limping when I walk. How's yours doing? I also put the seafoam in my 2 cycle leaf blower and in my 2 cycle gas. It's GREAT stuff. Thanks about the colour too...I've been doing that here pretty much since the beginning.

Nice ride richy. Was your knee injury duty related?

No, Scottie, it wasn't. Both my knees are bad; I've dislocated each of them 3 times over the last 29 years. My left was getting unbearable. I had scope surgery done last year which was not successful so I had a partial replacement done...so far, so good.

bike sounds nice rich, real nice. i guess i have a knee replacement or two in my future. i dislocated my right knee at least once a year. last major hyperextension i had was on duty a couple years ago. not fun by anymeans, especially when you're humping like 60 pounds of gear and tools in a burning building, lol. but anyways, im glad to see and hear you are getting better, and i hope you're able to get on the bike again soon!

Glad to see your progressing Rich! Just out of curiosity...what does seafoam do exactly?

Brendan..I guess it's like a wonder drug, especially for carburated motors. It cleans the gunk and varnish deposits from the fuel system and cleans out the fuel system so the engine runs better. It also enhances the life of the fuel. Here's a link to their page:

Awesome bike Richy ... I miss the one I had specially during the start of the riding season.

I've been using seafoam for 10+ years with incredible results. It really works wonders on any engine. I purr it via the PCV valve and let it sit for a few hours and I then go on a spirited drive. I stopped paying for "professional" fuel injector services:mounty: since I started using this product.

My northstar engine is notorious for "carbon tapping" and it has been long gone since using this every year.

Sorry to hear about your knees. I am glad it was not duty related. I am one year out of surgery from a duty related injury, no fun at all. Good luck with the continued recovery.:mounty:
