Anyone know how I would clean them? I know a metal polish would be the last step to get the shine back on them but how would I get all the crap off initially?

I was thinking or degreaser or Stoner Tarminator?

Yes a degreaser with agitation first. If you need more power use 0000 Steel Wool.

If the tips are really bad, I usually soak them while degreasing the rest of the car with one of three things: degreaser, tarminator, or a wheel cleaner. After the soak and a rinse, I always use a glass cleaner and some steel wool. Then hit the tip with a good metal polish to bring out the shine and offer protection.

Glass cleaner? I've never tried, why use that?

I've tried an APC with steel wool before, and it always leaves the tips a little cloudy. Glass cleaner (either an aerosol or spray) has excellent cleaning power when used with the steel wool. IMO it leaves the tips more "brilliant" and with less streaks than an apc. Give it a try, you'll love it!!

Interesting, I'll give glass cleaner a try next time for sure.
