I came across this tooling around a website I visit infrequently. I found this to be something of interest. Hope you guys like the short read! Rolls-Royce Phantom news - 1930s Rolls to fetch £8.5m? - 2009 - BBC Top Gear
It's always great to read these stories. It goes to show, if you have the money, you canhave anything built.
It just goes to show that wealth and taste are not synonymous. As far as I'm concerned, the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost is the nicest and should be the most valuable of all of their cars.
Fact of the matter is when that car was built it was the best, it was #1 and it served its purpose. It had 14 lights for a reason, not just because RR wanted to put 14 on them. Indian in that had had no street lights and horrible roads, heck they still do in many areas. Now it could be worth that much because it is so rare, in great condition by the looks of it, has a great story and owner. Me, personally I would not want it, but then again to be honest I do not like classic cars. I just do not really like how they look I am a modern car person. Does it make me bad, does it mean I have bad taste, no. I rather have a Ferrari f430 or a M3 than a classic vett or Mustang. The price it is worth is just the amount someone is willing to pay, does not mean it is the best just means someone is willing to spend that much for it.
You know what I can do is take a picture with my digital of an old print I have of both the Morgan as well as my old Lambo. I'll try to do that tonight.
im glad the M3 is as desired as the F430 for you, makes me appreciate my ride even more :applause:thank u back on topic...thats a pretty cool ride. not because of its looks, but because its the only one in the world like it and it has history
Expensive as a motha, but I vaguely remember something about a $25 million Ferrari that someone crashed.
It was probably a $2.5 haha. Even that's expensive as ****. That's 2 Buggatti Veryons with change leftover.
We now present you with the most expensive car crash ever. Touted as the Ferrari that most successfully embodies the traits of the marque, the 1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO became the most valuable car in the world. In 2008 an anonymous English buyer bought a 250 GTO at auction for a record $28,500,000. The crash below represents a car worth more than the combined value of all 14 Enzos involved in accidents. It is simply unbelievable that an owner would even dare take this car on the road. wreckedexotics.com
