Recently completed job in the shop, Alpine White with every mod almost that can be installed on a late model M3. The vehicle had some paint work done and the finish was not "finished down", with sand scratches and deep tracers along with built up marring. After a wash/Iron X/clay step i proceeded to the paint correction .... Marring on the hood. Bombing run by a local bird. Defect removed. Deep RIDS. Decklid now smooth and clear. Readings from the composite wing.....................I think there is enough to work with(Understatement..). Before. After compounding. Two spots had deep defects, so I sanded lightly. After. Black trim was not looking very nice. During compound stage. Enough clear for correction, but still getting on the thin side. Marred front quarter. Marring & shrink from the re-spray corrected. Shrink and marring on passenger door. Leveled finish with M105 and Black Edge Wool. Decklid edge marring. After compounding.
Carbon splitter had sand scratches & marring. Correction of the defects. Brembo "Tightness" not looking it's best. Better. Wheel well crust. Cleaned up. New HRE P40S wheel polished and sealed. My new nieghbor next door (Alek from "Alekshop") torqued the wheels to spec. Dusty dry engine bay. Looking good.............with gofast goodies(Supercharger). Inside of hood cleaned. Interior pics. Finished product. If you do not like this profile...................you are not a "Carguy" . Akrapovic tightness peaking out.
Tightness achieved on yet another German. I'm going to have to call you the wheel well wizard - you have a special, magic power when it comes to getting that area clean. Awesome PosiTector. Now correct me if I'm wrong as I've never used a PTG. Layer 1 is clear, layer 2 is paint, and layer 3 is the primer?
wow a supercharged m3. what a beauty. although i must say i dont like the HRE's on this car. I really enjoy the style that you use in your writeups. where you show the problem and then how you answered it. much better than people that just take pictures of paint from 15 feet away. thanks for that!
Once again, white done right looks stunning! Bob, you obviously have a trained eye. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between local bird crap and that from an out-of-town tourist. :shead: TL
