Modern Warfare 2

....possibly best game ever? anyone else on here get it? im by no means a big gamer of any type, but i impulse bought a PS3 the other night, coincidentally 3 hours before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was about to launch. so i reserved one and went back the next day to pick up my copy instead of waiting in a line with 300 nerds/gamers til 3am.

but in all seriousness, this is probably the BEST game ive ever played. i just finished it last night, and everything about it was top notch for sure. the story line, the characters, the graphics, the extreme attention to detail ( 7 series bmws etc sitting in peoples driveways), the weapons, the AI was un-B-lieveable. i just finished the game last night and man was i excited. even the ending was badass. the only thing i wasnt totally sure about in the game was there are certain areas of the story line where you are a foreign operative and end up having to kill american soldiers. the game does ask you in the beginning though, if you are cmfortable with certain situations, and if you select no, the game will skip it.

the PS3 is still confusing me a little bit with its system menus though. i havent had a game system since the original xbox, and now that i have this PS3 i feel like im overwhelmed with technology, lol. i mean the things got blue ray, online browser, netflix, playstation store, live chat, some kind of interactive playstation online community thing where you "hang out with people on the cyberweb", its nuts. the big thing for me is the online play. you can play your games online for free, as long as you have a high speed internet connection.

im overwhelmed. im just good at killing terrorists. this ps3 is confusing me.

 

Ah I woulda told you to go 360 then you coulda played with me. This game is a welcome change from World at War, but there's something about it that is weird to me. I've played COD4 almost daily since it's came out. Something is definitely odd about MW2, albeit it is a great game. The story line is badass from what I've seen so far, the part where you're an undercover with the terrorist cell in the airport is one of the most hard-hitting scenes in a video game I've ever seen. The game engine is still there, I haven't quite put my finger on it but something is strange. I'll figure it out.

 

My youngest brother just got it the other day for the 360. He says it is quite amazing and he is a big Call of Duty fan.

I'm more of a PC gamer, my PS3 system just collects dust while I currently play L4D and am awaiting the release of L4D2.

 

I was at the midnight launch and took off Tuesday and Wednesday to play. I am back to work today and all I want is to go home and play more. I got the Prestige Edition for the 360. Night vision rocks. I have played all the COD games and this is my favorite so far. If anyone wants to play, my gamertag is SPYGOAT, I usually have a lot of friends on line and we take over rooms and play with all friends on both sides, makes for a lot more relaxed and fun gaming experience.

Oh, and I wasn't in line until 3am. I pre-ordered 5 months ago and the game was already paid for. I just showed up a few hours ahead of time and got my game.

 

This game is ridiculously good. The story is hands down the best I've ever played, I got so involved while playing it. The Sgt. would say 10 o'clock! and I would instantly snap over there, idk it just feels so real if you take your time and get into it. The online is really good too, there's so many things to unlock, and no gay-ass guns like in Halo 3(needler). I really like the extremes the storyline goes to, I mean no other game ever does that with the airport and a lot more but I don't wanna throw out any spoilers for someone who hasn't beat it yet.

I'm not a huge gamer, I just play every once and a while but I have a feeling I'm gonna be playing this game A LOT. My 360 tag is Darkstar752, add me.

 

Have yet to play it but COD4 was probably the best most realistic military game I've yet to play. Its so frenetic and an in your face with little to no lull points. Destroys Ghost Recon.

 

I have to admit this new game is 100% better then the COD 4, I agree breath taking the attention to detail.

I've played online a bit and man I got to get used to the new maps, I've been getting massacred so far :shakhead:

yeah thats funny because i did the same thing, regarding taking off work. i took two days off and just played non-stop, which is weird for me because like i said, im not a big gamer at all. are you on ps3 or 360?

shame you're on 360, i currently have no buddies online to play with. plus i dont know any of the maps yet, so i get torn up a lot.

MF2 is the same way. non stop in your face action.

same here carlos. not knowing the maps is killing me! im used to the days back when i coud navigate the ghost recon and counter strike maps with my eyes closed. now im just running around like an idiot because i have no idea where im going. i get killed a lot haha.

I made the switch from cod4 on pc to cod mw2 on 360. I'm still getting used to it. I miss the pin point precision aiming with the mouse for sure.
