So i'll keep this short since i know we all don't like to always read books. I currently am mobile and have been mobile since i started my business a few years back. I know that some people love the idea of having someone come to their home or office to have their car taken care of and on the other hand some people don't have a place where you can detail so you would need a fixed location. My buddy who lives in Honolulu started off mobile and decided to make the leap to a fixed location and now does both mobile and fixed. What i like about being mobile is a change of scenery all the time and the fact that you don't have much overhead at all. The down side to that is when it's raining if your customers don't have a garage you are out of work. Having a bay would be fantastic as i can keep cars overnight to do some extreme detailing, i have a fixed location to hang out and can offer services such as washes, wash & vac's and things that wouldn't be profitable when going the mobile route unless you had like 4-5 washes in one area. I could have everything i need at my finger tips at a shop vs having to pick and choose what can fit in the back of a pickup truck. Work has been ok lately, nothing extremely fantastic in terms of large correction jobs or anything like that. Mostly people just wanting clean cars for right now. I would like to advance my business to the next level and would like to hear opinions from folks on what they would do: I'm considering selling my personal vehicle that i rarely drive to either get a Nissan NV Cargo van or i'm going to look into a fixed location depending on rent of course. Thanks Guys
