I was needing some information from the very knowledgeable members of this site. Like the title says, my MK4 needs some loving, mainly in removing some deeper RIDS, swirls are not a problem as of yet. I only own a G110, and LC pads and CCS pads. I have up to an orange in the LC, and up to a yellow in the CCS pads. As far as compounds my strongest product is Megs 105. Should that be strong enough for the clear on that car, or do I need to step up to something like Menz SIP??

    Thanks in advance!

I would be very careful when polishing a MK3 or MK4. They don't have as much paint from the factory as other cars. MY MK3 and the MK4 Cab that I have coming in today both averaged around 100 microns. Not a lot of paint to begin with. Its enough to polish for sure, just be careful with how aggressive you are especially near any high points on the body. Before polishing, try to get ( even borrow ) a PTG. I would stick with the SIP and orange pads and you should be ok.

M105 is much stronger than SIP. SIP isn't even the most aggressive polish from Menzerna, Powergloss is. So I don't think you need to consider SIP.

SO I should get the thickness check, and just refine my technique with 105..
