Well I know some people layer different waxes/sealants on top of each other, but has anyone actually mixed waxes together, specifically liquid? I wonder what an 845/Butter Wet Wax combo would look like. I was thinking mixing a soap with a Quick Detailer like 425 might have an interesting outcome too, just like CWG has glossing agents.

Why not, Sounds interesting. Do you know what you are going to start with? Good luck and keep us posted...:thumb:

Well provided it actually works, I'll try the 845/Butter wet since I have both sitting around. I'm just looking for some input so I don't ruin ~15 bucks worth of wax on nothing.

Great idea & i'm also curious about the end results.
Since you mentioned 845/Butter wet, it would be wise to contact the vendors (Collinite & CG) & ask them & see what they say.
I've communicated several times with Mike from Collinite & he always responded in a timely fashion.

What type of questions do you think we should ask?

You should ask the same question you asked above.
    Example
    1. Can your wax be mixed by another manufaturer's wax?
    2. What are the pros & cons of doing so
    etc.

Don't waste ur time!!! There's no way to determine the chemical reaction the waxes wil have... And more importantly u won't be able to tell a difference!

Now I do mix soaps (citrus clear wash/megs hyperwash)
    Or like lightening fast/folex

ya... i'd agree that it would be difficult to determine how they would react when mixed together.

    Doesn't hurt to try though.

I have plans to pull a fender from a junkyard and restore it. Then I'll mix CG Butter Wet Wax and Collinite 845. There will be 5 spots/slots on the fender for each designated wax. One for pure Butter Wet Wax, one for pure Collinite 845, one for 50% 845 50% BWW, one for 75% 845 25% BWW, and one without any protection as a control. I'm going to base it off of looks and durability, and beading after a while. I'm going to leave it out in the driveway in the open elements. My goal is to make a great looking and easy combination. If I get fancy maybe I'll throw some 425 in there after I get all of this sorted out if possible.
