Miracle Detail - Audi R8 in Black, 70+ pics.

Hi all,

An Audi R8 owner decided he wanted a Miracle Detail, so he drives over 400 miles to come and get his R8 detailed, it was originally booked in for 10-12 hours max, but in the end it turned into 18 hours in 2 days with the client picking his car up at 6pm to drive home again. He didn't get home till 1am in the morning!!

Anyway, I thought, how bad can it be, its a R8 with 10k on the clock and just over a year old, should be a breeze... How wrong was I...

Ideally, I needed to sand this car, but didn't have my 200 litre compressor with me or my Mirka bulldog sanders, nor did I have enough time to make it 100% as client needed to get back home.

18 Hours and it still wasn't 100%.

Im getting a new Compressor this friday for my studio, along with a few other toys from the nice man at Snap On.... I can feel a new tool box coming on....

 

Those close-up pictures of the paint just give the look of a hard clear. Great work and thanks for all the pics!

Looks like the yellow 3M pad to me on the 3M backing plate. The yellow is the polishing pad although it is still quite soft. Sure Paul can confirm though.

I have a Karcher HDS 801 B Petrol jet wash, connected to a 200 litre water tank with inline filter.
