Hello, My customer recently purchased this lovely Montero with only 66,000 miles on it. Apparantly, it was purchased in the US, then lead most of its life in Japan before being brought back again. When I saw it in the daylight, it didn't look too bad. But the lights told a different story. Apparantly one of the doors was also repainted, something the owner did not know. I also found out the hard way that it was a single stage paintjob, lovely! All my pads, applicators and MFs are now black as well, hah! Joke of the day: my partner was doing the interior and must have accidentally hit the door lock. So the doors were locked about halfway through the detail. BUNK! We had to wait until the customer picked it up to open it up again, and by that time there wasn't really time for pictures. So I only have a few afters, unfortunately. Let's see: 1) Wash with CG Citrus Wash 'n Gloss and ShMITT 2) Clay with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay 3) Dry with Cobra Guzzler 4) PO85RD on white LC CCS w/ Flex on 5 (multiple passes) 5) CG Jetseal 109 (sat for 2.5 hours) 6) Lusso Oro (twice in one hour intervals) Enjoy!!! After the hood was done. You can see how black my white CCS pad is. Lovely!
Had heard that you didn't want to put Jetseal under Lusso and that really disappointed me but after seeing your pics ... WOW! Can't wait to do a detail with JetSeal and Lusso. Man you did a fantastic job with the black. You are getting the black cars down to a science mate! Great work as usual for you Piet, I just wish I could see some more of those awesome pics!!
Great job P1et! Awesome! :thumb: Those swirls were nasty. Your poor pad looks totaled :thud: What did you use on the tire cover and wheels?
wow, I cant believe the correction you got with 85rd and a white pad, is the correction as good as the pics make it seem? awesome work piet
Very nice there P1et, vehicle looks great :druling: black is so rewarding when detailed properly and you have sure detaile dit properly :applause: well done. Thank you for sharing with us. As for 85RD, great choice if you ask me, specially on single stage paint...it really dosen't take much to crrect single stage paint but that's just my opinion.
Very nice work mate The black is looking really wet, very nice pajero!! Very nice results! Can`t wait for next weekend
Thanks! I was really pleased with how the dual layers of Lusso looked on top of the Jetseal... Thanks! FMINUS recommended I give it a try, let is sit for more than 20 minutes. It seemed a little easier to remove, but the vehicle was inside so I couldn't really judge if it looked better or not. But I bet it bonded better! Wolfmeister GENERAL! Forget about the NAY SAYERS, slap on a fat layer of Jetseal and then rock out with your LUSSO out and top that RUUD BOY!!! It looked WICKED and I will continue to use it. Just did the same thing to my wife's Explorer this moring, again great results! I tried washing the pad and most of it came off. Just looks a tad gray now! Holden cleaned the tire cover with 1Z Cockpit Premium, them topped it with Natural Look. Thanks Corey!!! I appreciate it Sparkie! Was the paint 100% perfect in the end? It wasn't. But I got at least 85%-90% of the swirls out, depending where on the body. The customer made it clear he did not want me to be too aggressive, so SIP was out of the question. The paint, it being single stage, reaction VERY well two the PO85RD passes. It was a bit on the soft side, I even marred the hood at one point removing the wax. YES! The PO85RD reacted GREAT to single stage. It was easy to correct it with a white pad, the paint was softer than Nissan paint it felt like. Yes, we have a dirty black KRAUT next weekend!!! :applause2:
Piet I bet the Explorer was looking great too! Well I will be doing the JetSeal/Lusso combo tomorrow on the black Duramax GMC! Man after those pics I can't wait!!!
Looks awesome Piet! haha have to be careful with those keys. I almost locked the keys inside of a Merc once. The doors auto lock!
