Here's a quick review of Adam's 2-step correction system that recently replaced their old 3-step correction system. This system aligns with the new industry trend of trying to get an almost perfect paint finish in less steps. I recently purchased this system after Phil recommended it to me during one of our conversations. Phil has never steered me wrong when it comes to product recommendations, so I decided to get a hold of this system. I decided to test this system on my 2010 Passat. My factory lip spoiler became loose and I decided to redo the 3M double sided tape, but I wanted to correct the top of the trunk first. This test was done on factory paint with an average thickness of 110 microns. Paint's Condition Before Test: Paint After Compounding: Rupes Bigfoot 15 Adam's new MF compounding pad 2x Buffing Cycles (6 vertical / 6 horizontal passes ... slow & steady speed/hand movements) 3x Wipe Downs after each buffing cycle (eraser wiped down with ONR-soaked microfiber towel) Paint after Compound & Polishing: Rupes Bigfoot 15 Rupes Yellow Pad 1 Buffing Cycle (6 vertical / 6 horizontal passes) 3x Wipe Downs (Eraser wiped with ONR soaked microfiber towel) Side Not Corrected (For Direct Comparison Purposes) Side Polished (Tried to captured the only RIDS that didn't come out ... it was deep and it required wet sanding which I didn't do) Final Product: Conclusion: I was really impressed with this system. Long work time, no dusting to speak of, and extremely easy to wipe off. This compound/polish combo are diminishing in nature, so I worked them just like I work other diminishing products (ex. Menzerna). I will address the "can I replace my entire arsenal with this system" question before anyone asks. My answer is simple ... I have yet to encounter a polishing system that can tackle all different types of paint systems and deliver consistent results. That being said, this system is a nice addition to my arsenal and IMO (based on this test alone) is better than Meguiar's D300/D301 system for a couple reasons. First, I feel that D300 is a nice compound, but it tends to fill (at least for me). I didn't experience any filling and the cutting power is a little bit more than D300. Another benefit of this system is the fact that the polishing step is a true polish and not an AIO. IMO, the finish obtained after the compounding stage is good enough for a daily driver. The polishing step did amp up the gloss and gave the paint a little more depth, but for DDs, the compounding results achieved here would have been more than acceptable. I think that the compound can be a great one stepper on hard paints. I will continue to test this product for the time being (have used it on Subaru paint and it's excellent on soft/sticky paint), but I think Adam's has a winner here. You guys have nothing to lose because of Adam's money back guarantee.
I own both and they look/feel the same. You know there are only a few mf pad manufacturers. The cool thing about Adam's is their money back guarantee. I bet you will like it. Let me know Todd. Thank you. I barely do any reviews, but this system impressed me a lot.
Thanks bud. When are we getting together? Did you get married already? Thanks Phil for the product recommendation. Less cut than FG400. This is similar to D300, but you can clearly see that it works well on hard VAG paint.
Wedding is September 28th! I think October might be a good time for us to get together. I think after these years we just finally need to do it. I just had an extensive shoulder and bicep operation that has me out of most activities until after the wedding. After that though I need to get back in the detailing groove. I have had my jeep now going on a year and half and it still hasn't been corrected.
Nice review and thank you for the kind words. We put a lot of time into these new juices, so I'm glad to see the positive experience. You are absolutely correct on being able to 1 step with the Paint Correcting Polish on daily drivers and cars not looking to have 'show quality' shines. I've even taken to mixing a few drops of the Finishing Polish into the pad with the Correcting Polish on lighter corrections. Produces a nice 'inbetween" polish.
Less steps, less guess work. I AM totally down with that. I get so annoyed playing with pads, polishes etc to find out what works.
I completely agree with this statement. Definitely going to have give these 2 a try when I run low on my Sonax polishes.
Awesome to hear man! LOVE THIS. I've been DYING to hear somebody share words like this on this particular forum. There's SO MANY Menzerna & Sonax followers over here, it's been a tough shell to crack....to say the LEAST!!! Dylan did a PHENOMENAL JOB in his new recipes on these two polishes. I couldn't agree more!! THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH!!
IMO, menz has been the standard for years, its who everyone chases. The product just flat out works. BUT you have 2,3 or more of their products, multi steps, no one size fits all. That sort of changed with FG400, but it finishes down "acceptable" if you want the top shelf level gloss we all want you then have to go back and mess with a less abrasive polish, find a pad that works etc. If this product does all that in two steps, Im down. GDAL is someone I trust highly when it comes to product knowledge and experience. And being someone who owns two VWs, I need all the help I can get.
Thanks for sharing your experience Gianni !!! I had no doubt the Adam's would perform well . You and Phil confirmed this. I will be adding to my arsenal .
