You know what they say about the shoe-maker's kids going without shoes...well my wife's Pacifica just keeps getting ignored other than the regular wash. I had a cancellation this weekend so I got a chance to do her car. I wasn't really going to go all out on it as I just wanted to prepare the paint for a sealant test. I couldn't help myself so as I got farther into it, the more correction it got. There are no befores but the back 1/2 was pretty scratched up. I also intended on shooting a close up to see the flake jump and forgot to do that too. I almost said screw it and didn't post. But what the hell..I haven't in a while so here we go.... Wash: Gilmour Foam gun with DG soap 2 bucket wash with grout sponge leaf blower dry Guzzler ww dry Wheels/Wells/Tires: Wheels and Barrels cleaned with Carbrite Acid Tires/Wells with kleenol Wheels subsequently cleaned with DG 501 Wheels sealed with test sealant Tires treated with DP gel Paint Correction: Initially with 3M finishing polish and white pad Scratches got Megs 105 with purple foamed wool using rotary at 2500 rpm Rotary using X3 with white foam pad at 2000 rpm Rotary using DG 501 with blue pad at 1000 rpm DG 601 applied by hand Test sealant applied by hand over 601 in some places, on its own in others. Thanks Buddy..not a big surprise to anyone here I'm sure that I couldn't stand to do it 1/2 assed. Thanks Bryan! They don't like being seen as 2nd fiddle, especially when mine is always mint! thanks Sal
Vehicle looks good richy, so how's the test sealant? Easy to apply? Oh by the way, just a question how do you like these exterior lights? Are they solar lit or are they electrically connected and have a timer? The reason I ask is because I purchased some of those solar powered lights and some turn on some don't, I was actually considering wiring some up and lighting up the front of the house, not this year though it's a bit late for this year maybe next year.
Great great great job richy! That sealant seems to be the real deal dontcha think. Everything is top notch especially for a mini detail...oh by the way your wheels look all cracked up, LOL!
Denzil..thank you very much! The lights are from Crappy Tire and they are solar. They are nice b/c there are 2 LED lights per head so they throw some nice light. But they are not too bright either b/c of them being aimed at the ground. They give a nice glow to the entranceway to the house at night. The bonus was I got them at 1/2 off too!! I also replaced the shitty 600mah batteries that came with them with nmh ones rated at 2800 mah. They stay on all night long..no shit, they are on at 6am when the sun comes up. You should double check yours; they usually have an on/off switch inside the head...maybe you missed it? JL..thanks a lot, bud! I can't express well enough with words how I am completely blown away with this stuff. The product put on the Pacifica is the same one sent to you and is BETTER than the one I put on my FX and it is out of this world! I am so anxious to test this stuff out!!! And about the wife's wheels...well that wouldn't be nice to make a crack about a female driver now would it?? :shakehead: Gary..thanks so much!
What these lights have an on/off switch really..mmm...I'll have to double check..and they bring batery's too hmmm...well I'll have to double check the lights I purchased...mm...thanks for the feed back richy eace: As far as the sealant goes, I know what you mean about the sealant being a bear, I had the same experience with Klasse :shakehead:
