I was recently removing Pete's 53 from a client's car with a CG blue microfiber, and afterwords, I noticed the towel was leaving swirls behind on the paint. Anybody know why this was happening?

Will the same towel marr the paint with nothing on it?

they have some microfiber towels that can be used just for taking off polish and wax

    How old is the mf?

    Which mf?

The mf could have picked up some tiny piece of dirt or the paint could be extremely soft. Or the towel has reached the end of the road and needs to be retired or atleast demoted

The MF is brand new out of it's plastic wrap.

always wash your mfs before using them.

the hologramming you see may be from not letting the wax cure completely or from humid conditions.

It's happening with both washed and brand new out of the packaging microfibers. I'm in SoCal where humidity is a non-issue, and I let the wax cure for an hour.

I have found that there is some paint out there that is so stupid soft that you can fart down-wind from it and it will scratch! Normally a really soft mf like e-shine's cookie monster has better uses than wax removal, but you might need some really soft ones like that for that car. Make sure you are washing them in very, very hot water; vinegar rinse; and a light dry to fluff them up and you should have no residue issues or anything. Good luck.
