I just picked up 12 Fluffer's from CG and wow are they nice. I plan on picking up more once the budget allows, alomg many other things. I need to know if it's really necessary to get a Microfiber-Specific cleaner liek this one: Autowerkes Exclusive :: Micro Restore Microfibre Wash :: 2008 :: Shop Or, if anyone has any other tips, tricks, or products used to keep they're Microfiber's looking, feeling, and performing up to par, please chime in!!
I just bought a gallon of Micro Restore myself, but haven't tried it yet. Just used my last bit of CG Microfiber Wash, great stuff but was ready for something new. Personally, I wash them on warm with a second rinse. I hang dry them, too.
I use Dreft baby detergent. It has no scent, and no fabric softener. Never use fabric softener with any of your microfibers or waffle weave towels, it will clog them up, and they will not work properly. I have also found that my towels last longer if I hang dry them.
I do like the CG stuff. I got Micro Restore this time as I was placing an order with Phil anyways and wanted to save on shipping. You cannot go wrong with either...
I use normal washing machine soap without issue. In the past I did use some of CG's MF wash, but can't tell much difference between that and the stuff you buy at the grocery store.
I agree completely. In addition you don't need one soap for regular wash and another for microfiber towels. It works a well as any of the specialty microfiber cleaners and costs less.
I use Micro-restore on my quality microfibers and Tide free on my generic no name ones for the interior, engine bay, and wheels.
I've tried those microfiber specific cleaners and weren't all that impressed. For my microfiber, I clean with the basic pure liquid Tide with a dash of Zep citrus degreaser. Really stained portions will get a couple sprays of Dawn Power Dissolve. Extra rinse cycle with white vinegar. Then dry em with those dryer balls on low heat. Towels come out clean and soft.
That sounds like a solid way to wash them. How much Zep are you using? I just don't know if I can justify spending #20 on MF detergent......someone help me justify this more so....
