I have recently begin to notice my Uber MF's (thanks Phil :applause2: ) are starting to become clumpy and 'dry' and loose their baby softness. I have tried various different liquid detergents, vinegar in the rinse cycle, etc but have yet to find anything that can breath some life back into them or keep them from gradually deteriorating.

I have a few goodies I am about to order from Ken (911Fanatic :thumb: ) and was wondering about including a bottle or 2 of the Micro Restore Microfibre Wash. I would like some opinions from the guys on here who regulalry detail (daily/weekly) and have used the product, or alternatively any other detergent that is highly recommended :thumb:

I got Micro Restore as a free gift in one my orders from AG once. To me it didn't clean that well. I forgot if it brought the softness back for the towels, its been a while. Currently, I use CG's microfiber wash. It cleans even the nastiest towels I have dedicated for grunge work. They won't come out new but its still good. I put in 2-3 oz per wash load and hot water on normal. Then I wash them again adding just vinegar in cold water on light load. They come out fluffy every single time.

Have you tried boiling your microfibers?

I use that and CG MF Wash all the time. The towels come out very clean and soft. I actually wash my clothes with the stuff as well.

I have read pretty much conflicting info on the dedicated products from various forums. I am going to try boiling one of them up (sorry Phil :D ) and see how it turns out.

On the side, Phil if you reading this I would love to know how you maintain yours, unless of course you use new ones evertime having the motherload in your warehouse and all :D

I use Micro-Restore and CG Micro fiber wash every wash for my towels. Then I use vinagar in the rinse cycle. It is a natural stain remover and softener...I get beautiful results everytime...I say Yay...:thumb:

I use Woolite. But I wash my towels after every detail that I do,so that stains have less of a chance to set in.

I've found that they don't hold up all that well either. After a few months of use they aren't really paint worthy any more IMO.

There's been a lot posted on washing mf's and rightfully so as it's the only tool that is used with every stage you do to the car. I have found that it's not so much what product I use to clean but the process itself (boy, that reminds me of something else, LOL). What I do is pre-soak in Zep APC for the really drty ones. I do it in very hot water and let them sit at least an hour. Rinse them out and the dirt just flows from them! Then into hte machine with eihter my DP mf wash (I've never tried the other one) or Tide. I also add vinegar to the rinse cycle. I have a front load washer that I set to deep clean and steam setting (people everywere are waking up to the power of steam!).
That process cleans them thouroughly and has kept mine clean and soft. I have a big variey of mf..from tons of different retailers..they all respond well to this process. Hope that helps.

Looking like I'll be dipping into my wifes vinegar stash. That didn't come out right, did it?

I have both the Micro Restore and the CG MF wash. I like them both and can't really reccomend one over the other... Other than you use less Micro Restore than the CG stuff.

I also use white vinigar in the rinse and I have very nice MF's still.

I've been using Micro Restore, I've also boiled my micro fiber towels. So far both methods work for me but I too do as richy suggested, set washer to high settings for washing my micro fiber towels.

This has worked for me, hope it helps :peace:

I tried the Micro-restore and wasn't that impressed. Just decided to spray the stains with my green APC and wash with ALL, hot wash, warm rinse - worked better than anything I've tried so far.
