Hello fellas... Today I washed my daily driver Subaru Tribeca and used Schmitt wash mitt and Detailer's choice giant Bone Sponge and used CG Fluffer supreme MF (BLUE with red edge)

After washing the car, I use Micro-Restore MF detergent to wash those 3 items listed above. Settings on the Washer were Delicate, Warm h20, for 40 mins and medium cycle. Not too much load and used about 1 oz.

----> 40 mins. later, pulled my sponge and wash mitt and slight blue dye transferred to it. It smelled like Clorox and some bleach but the product said no bleach or softener added.. Im a little confuse as to why this happened.

---> anyone had the same problem?

After a couple washes the towels will stop bleeding color. I tried micro-restore a couple month back and i didnt really feel it made a difference with regular detergent. So far the best mf wash i've used is from CG, hands down.

Also... Do you guys put your MF towels in the DRYER? or hang it? I air dry my MF towels and it seems to get stiff that way..

I've used Micro Restore exclusively, and I really like it. It brought back some cheap Costco MF's, and keeps all my other MF's nice and soft and clean.

My all white Adams WWMF does have a blueish tinge, but that's no biggie in my book.

I put my MF towels in the dryer...autodry set to low heat. My basement is too Blair Witch scary to hang anything to dry.

    Yes, dryer on low heat.

I also add a couple oz of white vinigar to the final rinse.

what does the vinegar do ?

Basically releases any contaminants/cleaners/leftover residue and acts as a natural softener.

If you figure your wash holds 10 gallons of water, and you add a couple oz of vinegar....

There is no vinegar smell. I hate vinegar smell too, and it doesn't bother me at all.

I wash all my MFs with CG MF Wash and air dry all of them. Needless to say, I have a lot of plastic hangers!!!

I also air dry mine but MF felt a little stiff when air dried as opposed to dryer.. Today, I washed my MF towels and used dryer medium heat and see if it makes a big difference...

I used to dry my MFs in the dryer, but the dryer would leave some lint on my towels. After that, I just started hanging them instead.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but what do dryer balls do and what are they ?

Dryer balls are plastic spiked hollow balls (slightly smaller than a tennis ball) that you to add to your laundry to improve dry time and keep clothes softer and more wrinkle free. I use 2 when I dry my MF towels.

That is just too funny!! I sorta had the same problem, but recently added six 100w CFL bulbs down there, and now nothing hides in the dark.
