mercedes 190 sl

    here goes my most recent service.

    mercedes sl 190 from the year 62 i think

    i will do a step by step for the process and i don´t now if i can do it, but i will put the name off the products i use to make you guys a litle better to understand

    some photos before the repairs..

    the seats were fully of fissures and cracks,

    The seats were separated from up / down to doing better the repair and painting

    a litle piece from the doors also needed a repair

    the leather was previously cleaned then was sanded with sand paper 180,

    them they were cleaned with a leather cleaner specific from leather magic to clean all the silicones or dirty that remained in the leather (leather prep)

    them the cracks were filled with the leather coumpound

    giving a texture to the repair areas to dissimulate them(water base spray grain)

    them they were lightly sanded with sand paper 600 to create a soft finish

    dying the leather(leather magic dyes)

    the back seats were dyed too because these small spots..

    assembly started

    i´m already doing these jobs almost 3 years ago, and only now i´m capable to do some repairs, thys is a powerfull tool and is very impressive but take care, do not sand the leather if you don´t now how to do the repirs after..

    Tony..the seats look great. I have seen that process done before but have never been properly trained so I have not ventured to try. Most of the cars I do are not in that bad a shape also. I love your shop..bright and airy. Please keep posting. Thanks.
