I haven't used it in about 4 years but this is still one of my favorites. Im ordering some 4Christmas. Anybody else use it? It has to be the easiest on/off LSP I have ever used and slicker than slick. Some don't like its durability tho, maybe I should reconsider?
I might still have a bit left somewhere. I used to use it until I was told about the DG line. I have been using 105 but am switching to 111. Just as easy to use as FMJ, BETTER by far durability, and the 111 gives a nice wet look.
That's great news. I picked some up on a whim, but haven't tried it yet. I'm guessing I should toss the included applicator into the trash can?
Yes I have, they seem different to me tho. If I remember FMJ smells like rotten eggs and the color was hot pink.
Gosh Karl..I don't remember getting an applicator with mine? I remember it coming with a white box, that's it.
2 coats of FMJ on a garage kept car will last 4 months. If it doesn't, its operator error. If you use the Menzerna HGAS as well, 6 months is possible. DG 111 does look very nice as well.
It's funny, I resisted buying that product for a long time b/c I had a gallon of AW and didn't think I needed it. Now I have a gallon of it too and wouldn't be without it. Sorry...not trying to hijack this thread. FMJ is cool too.:hjacker:
I thought is was fairly durable when I used it, I average 2 months on a car that sat outside 24/7. :cig:
Smelled like gasoline to me, and had a yellowish color on the bottle I used (was about 2 years ago, before I gave it away). Anyway, I love Blackfire Wet Diamond (especially topped with Midnight Sun), and will take it over Menzerna FMJ any day.
FMJ is what we are using currently on every winter detail must say its a great product and its requested by most of our customers coming in.
perhaps the formula has been updated, and durability issue improved...from original bottle that I got 5 years ago, I've been getting 6-8 weeks max...
Hi Phil, Question, is it your repeat customers who are requesting FMJ? And what do they seem to like about FMJ on there particular car? Thanks :cig:
This is about the same time I last used FMJ...early '05. I alternated it with original Blackfire AFPP on my Suby. Both sealants were nice IMO and had decent durability. However, while BF went through a couple of updates since, and its current formulation is excellent, I'm not sure if FMJ has seen any changes at all. I too was thinking about purchasing a new bottle to give it another shot. But if it's the same formula as before, I may just stick to the newer BF as it performs better than what I remember of FMJ.
