I got introduced to this product today and it just about blew my mind with it's ability to polish by hand :awesome:

I'm probably going to buy a gallon of this stuff soon, but I'd like to hear some feedback from those of you with experience.. Perhaps a couple pics also? :picture:

    Much appreciated

I too, would like to know what others think of this all-in-one product and it's capabilities to correct paint? On the Meguiars forum it has some rave reviews but, I like to see what everyone here has to say about it.

I tried it out again today on some minor etching from bird poop on my metallic red Santa-Fe. Two applications by hand - 100% correction (in direct sunlight).

I've tried unsuccesfully to remove this by hand with both Klasse & Zaino AIO previously.

I think I'm sold on this product.

I'll be ordering both this and M105 Monday

I really like it. I bought some M105 and loved it so I took a leap of faith and got a gallon of D151. It shares abrasive technology.

I haven't used it by hand but the M105 works amazing by hand.

I don't do this for money, just my one Jeep and friends rides for free. It works great for a one step. I can't speak at all for the durability since I haven't seen any of the cars since.

Did research all day today and decided to just order the #151 instead of both.

Apparently the #151 can be aggressive enough to handle just about anything depending on the pad/machine combo being used. :graduation: I'll give it a shot by itself, then step up to the #105 if I find something it can't handle.

I haven't found out yet if this stuff can be topped with a sealant or not :shead: apparently everyone's been using carnuba so far... they say it's "polymer protection", but I know Megs is famous for going in different directions with their new formulas.

Has anyone here tried topping #151 with a sealant (like Zaino) here???

Well, that is sure a non-biased point of view...:bla2:

How do you know that 151 isn't filling? I heard from a very respected source that it is loaded with fillers, not necessarily a bad thing for cheap customers that get a one step, but...

On the Meguiars forum a guy said that he did a alcohol wipe down and that the defects did not come back. But, that is on a forum made for their products and that is why I want to know what people on here think about it and if it can truely correct or just fill? :shead:

Yeah, I take everything I read on that forum with a pound of salt...

Another thing, it could be like Menzerna, where IPA or some other solvent won't remove the fillers, but months down the line you have marring returning.

I have used D151 on 3 cars so far. I rarely do "1 steps" anymore as I seem to have cars that have deeper scratches and swirls needing compounds or stronger polishes followed by medium or final polishes.

I had two vans owned by a catering company that had lots of surface oxidation and rust spots around the wheels etc., so doing a multi-step job would be wasted on these vans. A paint job would have been the better option! The customers real concern was on the interior, so anything I could do to make the outside look better would be great. I thought it would be a good chance to try D151 out!

I used D151 on a white LC pad on a rotary at 1500 rpm and it did a great job of removing the surface oxidation and removing many of the surface swirls and scuffs. I would estimate its cutting in the M80+ range. I have not used M83 in a while, so I am not sure if it is as strong or stronger than M83, but it is not in the M105 league.(Which is good as it would leave hazing on a lot of paints that would be hidden by the wax.) I then hand applied some M26 to give it longer protection.

The other car I used it on was a 1999 Cavalier that was again rusting and was just needing interior detailing and an exterior "cleaning". So out came the D151 and again it did a very good job at removing smaller swirls, but the GM clear was very hard, so it really needed M105 with wool to remove the deeper swirls but that was not in the budget.

I have a 2004 VW Golf that I will try D151 on tomorrow and will post the results tomorrow!

So D151 is a great one step(one of the strongest on the market) for those cars, vans and RVs that the customer just wants "it waxed" and will not spring for a true polishing.

I used it recently on a 1990 Nissan truck that had been repainted at a Maaco with cheap single stage paint. It had been resprayed about 4 years ago and the paint was oxidized, dull and lifeless. I decided to do the D151 with a white polishing pad and the Metabo at 1500. Just worked it til it almost disappeared and it did wonders for the paint. I then topped it with DG 601 and followed up with DG 105 and it is looking amazing. I was very impressed with this product. And no I didn't do the proverbial IPA wipedown but I really don't think it did any filling and if it did I really don't care because an AIO, as in the immortal words of many a great man, "Is what it is".

    Used it twice today..

First was on bird etching (deeper than my car) that was on the hood of a black TL.

    - By hand, 1 application, 100% correction. My "detailer" was stunned :yikes:

Second was on our old black parts truck (a Ford nicknamed "Old Swirlee").

    - By hand, 3 applications, 85% correction.

    * I'm going to have to take some pictures of this stuff, cause people are going to start saying I'm crazy without seeing for themselves :crasy:

I want to do a 50/50 on Old Swirlee tommorow with the Makita. I'll take pics :picture:

I have been playing around with a sample from BD, and it seems to work really well via rotary. It spreads out easily and has good workability no matter what the temperature or humidity (weather in STL this past week has put it to the test) As for durability it reminds me of CG's AIO Polish + Sealant, it works great on some cars but on some others it just doesn't last very long, no real rhyme or reason.

Hmm, sounds like D151 is worth giving it a shot.

I tried it with the 3401 and a white Blue CG MPT pad and it worked good but nothing spectacular. It definitely worked better via rotary. I will try and snap some pictures for you doing a comparison :)

Just tried the M105 on old Swirlee... :thud::worship2:

I've decided I'm just going to trade every other polish I own for LSPs... I've found the only two I'll ever need :wicked:

Keep an eye on the trade thread... I'll see what I've got and post either tonight or tommorow :hippie:

I tried D151 on a white LC rotary pad on a 04 Jetta today. I was hoping it would remove the swirls it had, but the swirls were too large and the clear too hard! I had to use M105 with the wool and PFW, then I used D151 on a white pad on the PC at 6. I then had applied M26 over that.
The results were quite good for 2 steps and the time taken.

I will get another chance to try D151 as I have two "inexpensive" customers that just want "a wax". I usually only get a couple of people a year not willing to pay the extra for multiple polishing steps and they are all seeming to call this week! I will let you know how it works on Lexus and MB paints.(They can't afford polishing? :shead:)

    Kenny-You still need 3m UF!
