megs backing plate for micro pads

for those that have used the megs mf system, is it necessary to use the w67da backing plate, that is the one that megs says you should use with it, but does it really matter?

 

it would be a good idea. as of right now those seem to reduce the amount of heat and will prolong the life of the pad.

what some have found is the pad will delaminate over a few heavy uses.

I haven't used any other bp with the system so I can't say it doesn't matter. I bought the whole system because it was designed to work as a unit, & if anything goes wrong with the final detailing I don't want to try to figure out whether it was the other guys' bp, yet another guys' pads, or polish, or anything else. For me, more variables = more problems to solve.
