Brand new Mc Laren MP4-12C from a repeat client, this beautiful vehicle came with quite a few defects from the factory on this one but once the finish was optimized the car is now stunning and unique. During the time the car came in I was in the middle of one of the busiest weeks ever even in a recovering economy which hopefully bodes well for the future, so I brought in Daniel from "Car Connoisseur " and Jimmy Lucci from Lucci Elite in So.Cal to well known and super capable paint correction detailers I have become close with. First up was clearfilm prep, as the car was going to be wrapped all the way to the doors and lower areas, after a wipedown I am utilizing fine clay before the paint corrective steps were carried out. Daniel correcting the defects. Jimmy aka "Bobby Bottle" doing his best. As I will still in high production mode, Ken Black came down from Sacramento to help for some time on this car and a NSX. Now onto the corrective phase, here is the "A" pillar with DA sand scratches. On this finish I started with M101, but M105 proved to cut much better as I had the old formula sent to me from Kevin Brown @ Buffdaddy which dusts quite a bit but results were there and that is what counts................. pillar with finish corrected. Cluster of sand scratches in the concave section of the drivers rear quarter. The defects were concentrated on the edges........................good for me As mentioned, most of the defects were on the hard to correct edges. Making progress. Also deep RIDS were also present which needed to corrected out. Checked my gage constantly as the risk on any car is high............but with this level of vehicle failure is costly. Sand scratch defects all along lower edge of drivers quarter. Finish corrected of defects. Sand scratch defects obscuring halogen light in the background on passenger rear quarter. Trim taped up and area corrected of defects.
More sand scratches. After. Greasy build up under rear bumper cove. After. More sand scratches on the edges. Scratches cleared up. More DA scratches on rear deck leading edge. Corrected. Yes more edge sand scratches................ Corrected. After I had the interior dialed in by Tony Ito( Detail by all hands on deck lol) it was completed and time for sun pics to show off this incredible vehicle. Car waiting to be delivered.

wow...the theme for this vehicle was sand scratches and defects on the edges... super tight work guys!
Needless to sat your details are just perfect. What always amazes me are the small things that you do so well. If you don't mind me asking Bob, what did you use on those tires? I love the understated gloss.
I can't believe I missed this thread. I also can't believe the condition of that car. I would have been scared shitless working those sanding marks near the edges like that. Very nice job Bob. And why is everyone there twice my size?
WOW that has to be kind of nerve racking, working on a car of such high caliber, great work though, i have to ask too, what product did you use on those tires? perfect mount of gloss and black.
