Today star1maker came over to detail this Blue Toyota Camry, not sure what year it is, maybe he knows. Process: - car was foamed with foam cannon with a mixture of TAW, CWC, and water - clayed with blue poly clay and gray clay with LT as lube - tires and wheel wells cleaned with Grime Reaper and rims got P21s gel Correction - Makita with yellow Sonus pad and SIP - Festool with yellow/white Sonus pad with PO203 on vertical panels LSP - 2 coats of Z-2 ZFXed Before Before After One side done and finished 50/50s Scratch before, the rest of the scratches were too deep so we just worked on minimizing the scratch so it was less noticeable. Before After Before After Another 50/50 Star1maker on the festool working on the bumper There was a lot of dust left on the car from compounding so it was rewashed. A heavy mixture of hyper wash for some fun shaving cream action LSP of choice was 2 coats of Z-2 ZFXed, being applied by star1maker and the final results
The Camry came out looking great! Does Hawaii make you put stickers on your bumpers? If so, I would go postal.
Thanks everyone...most work was done by matrix808 though =). I just got into detailing, its pretty addicting =p
Very nice guys! I gotta get back to HI to visit my aunt and cousin (and grandma, r.i.p.) Those stone walls are so distinctive.
Great work here gents, im curious on the Festool...i must be oblivious but i have never heard of it...is it run off an air compressor? You have a link? Looks cool!
It's a great tool, I prefer it over the Flex. It is the same, a forced rotation orbital, but it is a lot smoother and easier to control and MUCH easier on your ears. It is electric, but its a sander and there a thing on the back where you can plug in a suction type machine that they sell and its supposed to suck up wood dust instead of if flying all over the place. Heres a link to one, but I bought mine at a local store. Festool RO 125 5" Dual Mode Sander at Tools Plus
