    BrendanS Welcome to Detailing

    hey guys,

I'm currently looking for a Makita rotary polisher, I have one question. What are the differences between the Makita 9227C and Makita 9227CX3. They both look to be the exact same machine. Also, so far the best price I've found was around $180. Do you guys know any other cheaper place that ships to Canada? Or atleast a US PO Box.

I think the 9227CX3 is the kit. Amazon has it for $169 with free shipping.

except i live up in the great white north where igloos are home and no shipping is free. I might send it to a P.O. box

edit: for the kit, that means i need to build it?

$180 is a good deal -- is that from Phil at detailers domain? Maybe you can get in on the free Lusso offer!

I've never ordered any car care stuff from Amazon -- phil does ship to Canada though.

no its not from detailers domain. I'm just in the market, I wonder if autogeek does price adjustments. I'd much rather buy from them and get a bunch of other things as well while I'm at it. I'll see how it goes though.

Yes, please let us know. I have bought a few times from AG this year and find detailersdomain is more flexible.

one more question. If i get the polisher, is it recommended to get a different backing plate? I already plan to as I want to us 6.5" pads not 8. But just curious if it comes with one

alright, just sent them an email. I called them but realized that it's eastern timezone so that'd be 3:00pm they close which is when I'm off school. So I just sent them an email. I'll post their response.

thanks buddy, I'll most likely be buying it from them now. I don't know if they ship to Canada but shipping is $8.50 to US Shipping depot that is about 20minutes from my dads work. I can just get it shipped to there. Wow never thought i'd see a brand new one shipped for under $180. Thanks again man. I'm guessing you chose ground as well, did that give you a tracking number?

wow ok I'm totally pissed now. My dad had his credit card out to charge it and already said yes, same with my mom. And then randomly he asks if this is really necessary and my mom goes on.... and long story short I hate not having a credit card! I don't mean to sound like some bratty kid and I'm not. I work and pay for all my hobbies... This just sucks though! Sorry for the little rant

Be patient. I waxed/polished for many years by hand before getting a machine. :)

 yes I would have to agree with shiny, as I grew up I never wanted anything to do with a credit card, had many opportunities to get one but just didn't care for them. They serve a purpose but so many people don't know how to properly care for credit cards...perent's are bing parents.. and I'm sure they mean well.

Besides, baby steps...it's not about having all the toys it's about what you do with them that counts :thumb:

lol..well enough :bla: from me :sorry:

Hehe, so how old are ya? :giggle:

Maybe you can talk to your parents again and work something out. If not, maybe you can have a nearby DB member help you out.

I'm 15, 911Fanatic is probably the closest member. He will be helping me out, just with different things. I tried to work things out. I guess I can wait till the spring to get one. This just licks though because they already said yes and were even going to let me get a whole package. I told them all I'm ordering is the polisher.... than my genius dad comes in blabbles on and on to see if we really need one and so on...

X just hang in there the economy is really bad right now.Just remember timing is everything.Mom&Dad might of just got a huge bill in the mail or something like that!It may not seem like it but they do have your best interest at heart.just tell them it's O-kay & you can wait. You also need to have there best interest at heart too.If you think about it you know they would do this for you.Not to worry, you will have a polisher before you think you will, honest.Just keep in touch and let us know what going on O-kay!!!

That would be a yes for a tracking # :thumb:
