I recently bought a used car and the steering wheel has so much dirt and grime on it that it was sticky to the touch because of it. I have been using APC and a toothbrush to scrub off the grim and dirt but not the leather feels grainy and rough, not smooth like it should be. Does anyone know of some good leather products to bring back a nice smooth leather feel? Thanks!
The smooth feel that you originally experienced is probably all the yrs of grime accumulated on the leather itself. A steering wheel usually feels "grainier" after a good cleaning, but will start getting softer after it starts getting dirty again. I absolutely love using C.A.R. products Clean & Sheen on steering wheels and shift knobs. 1Z Cockpit and Sonax Dashboard Cleaner are also great options once you clean the steering wheel with 1Z deep cleaner.
