Backround, Carlos has this wax, wanted a review so i got stuck doing it Product: Lusso Oro Price: $39.95USD (Detailers Domain) Size: 8oz Prive per oz: 39.95/8= 4.99375 Application amount: So little, it looked like I took one swipe Price per application: Pennies smell: Very Very Very strong coconut.. it wasnt bad at first but i got kinda sick of it How to use: Lusso Oro goes on easily. When applying, remember, less is better. Your finish is better with two or more very thin coats of wax, than one heavy coat. Any excess wax is probably going to come off on your towel anyway. Best to use Lusso Revitalizing Creme prior to Lusso Oro for best results. It also said to apply to a panel, let sit for 60 seconds then buff off. How we used: I went around with a yellow foam applicator and the wax, I waxes each pannel, while I moved onto the next one Justin and Carlos buffed off the Oro... seemed to work well. We got the car done quicklu Stated results: Like anywax, just says its good... Actual Restults: This wax was ok at best. To me it looked just like sovergien... had a glow but not a ztmol glow. It had more of a sterile look then I am used to . Kinda disapointed Durabilty:I have no idea, has not been on the car long enough Thoughts: This wax is not what it has been hyped to be. I know some like it, kinda like some like sovegien. I am not one (in either bracket). This reminded me of sov. but for a cheaper price. I would actully think it was if they changed the jar and the smell. So if you like sov. then you should like this, if you dont like soc dont buy it.. not worth it Ratiting: I would give this a 3.5 out of 5 Added comments: Not a bad wax all and all, work a shot if you have 40bucks burning a hole in your pocket... I hope this review has come in handy. Thanks for reading. Any comments or questions: p.s. this was a quick review, not as im depth as I would like but I dont have the time these days, my appologies. I would love to field questions that way people can find ot what they want Also on a side note. I would like an honest opion on my reviews.. what do you like? what should I change? If i dont know I cannot fix it Thanks
Calgary. The review looks fine. Looks like you covered everything in the review. Direct and to the point. Heath
What color and type of car did you use it on? That and maybe a few pics, before and after might help with the review as well. What was the condtion of the paint, how long ago was it last polished? Interested in Justin and Carlos opinions as well. Thanks for taking the time.
Dont worry about it, give it a try for your self. This is just Calgary's point of view I'd like to hear your thoughts on it when you use it.
As for Lusso, I didn't apply it my self so I'm not sure about how it feels but one thing Calgary forgot to mention is that we just finished correcting the paint and prior to applying Luso we uses CG EZ Creme. My personal opinion/obsevation was that the EZ Creme added more depth compared to Lusso. Don't get me wrong Lusso added more of a shine/pop affect but that was about it...but in all fairness it was the first time any of use used it. I'd like to play with Lusso some more and get more confortable with it oh and the durability that is something worth looking into as others have been getting some great durability out of it. Well just my thoughts eace:
It was a black 2000 buick park avenu... i think carlos posted a thred asomewhere.... but we polished it (to 95% as the clear was gettin really thing) and applied the eezglaze..... I will give this wax another shot and update the review... but these are my initial impresions..... nothing special.... then again I am really picky when it comes to waxes.. heck I use sov. on windows just cause
You are right on about Lusso beingl ike Souveran! I love souveran and I love Lusso! Im sure you have been spoiled with Vintage!!!
I really like Oro. I have used it just over the revitalizing Creme (my Black Cherokee and Burgandy Roush Mustang) and got great results. Looks like Souveran but with much longer durability. I got right at 8 weeks out of it on my Jeep and it's outside 24/7. I also used it over EZ Creme on my Stealth and it looks really good on that too! You get practically the same look as Souveran at half the price and about twice the durability. Since Calgary doesn't care for Souveran I wouldn't think he would really care for Oro either since they are so similar.
one suggestion is that I would not use ex creme before it. I would go revitalizing creme followed by Lusso or polish with something like Menzerna followed by Lusso. I personally think that if you top coat a sealant you lose the look that it was suppose to give. that's just me but who am I.
I completly agree you with you about Sealants taking away the "REAL" look of a Carnauba. That being said, I still use it because more of my customers always also for LONG term protection.
I hear you on that I do what the customer says but I always ask them do you want it to look better than new or do you want durability. Most tend to agree that they want the best looks. When they ask me for what to do to maintain I either point them to Lusso/Swissvax/or Einszett Glanz /Adam's Super Wax(for durability)
Most people tell me they want a balance! When they ask ME what to do for maintenance, I point to my calendar book! :detective:
I have been spoiled by Vintage yes, however sovearn was not liked long before the even thoght of vintage.... so phil. When are you getting vintage? Sounds like it has some good durabilit, I cannot comment on how it does i n calgary just yet, but I will kep it updated. Good point, it seemed like sov. nothing special in my eyes, but to others its the cats neow. I will have to give this a shot, I agree on a sealent "changing" the optical range of a wax... sometimes for the better. I have uses sov. with almost everysealent I own. It gave a very similar look to the oro over the ex creme.... so i figured i could use it as a refrence point for people. :bat: Each and every person is diffrent, and will like something diffrent. I myself dont like the look of Sov,, Others dont like the look of vintage... all the power to them, save some dough...... So for people reading this (esp noobs who may not buy oro now) take what I, and everyone else, says with a grain of salt. YOU may like it, just becasue I dont dosent mean its a bad product, just one that dosent work with my pallet. I have had people tell me im and idiot and dont know what I am talking about becasue I dont like sovearn...if they want to do that then hey, its there breath :giggle: Anywho, I was not impressed by this wax, but you may be.... try it review it, tell me why I am wrong... Thanks for readig, and thanks for the coments. They are greatly appricated
Thanks for the review! I prepped the paint with the creme and topped it with Lusso. I'll be lucky to get about two weeks out of it. Which I guess isn't too bad since it's a true beauty wax. If I wanted durability, I'd look at Pete's '53. It's all a balance of what you want.
Just curious. Why is Vintage better than Souvran , Luso and others? In terms of looks what do you feel is the difference ?
