So I have been looking around for a decent glass polish/cleaner. It is not really for removing scratches, if it could remove some minor marring that would be great. I have gotten it down to the following Autoglym Glass Polish Zaino Z-12 Clear View 1z Glass Polish DP High Performance Glass Restorer Carlack Glass Cleaner Griot's Garage Glass Polish Griot's Garage Fine Glass Polish Also anyone that has used both Fine and regular glass polish by Griot's Garage, you find any big difference. I have been using Poorboys SSR1 but just looking for something new to use before application for a rain repellent, Aquapel currently but also looking at carlack if i get the glass cleaner.
Why not try something you have on hand like M105 or Menz PG? Like the other thread on polishing glass advises, be mindful of hte heat you generate. In my next DG order, I'm gonna try their rain repel. Come to think of it, DG has a glass polish too..in fact I have some but have never used it.
I would keep using SSR1 as I am not going for correction just want a good mechanical and chemical cleaner to get rid of road film and minor water spots.
No Problems dusting up on me. :shakehead: It really does work terrific :headbang: I have never used there "Glass Polishes" Just there regular "Fine Hand Polish" :chips:
I have used 3 products so far: 1. A-MAZ - a messy thick paste that seems to work the best (I got mine thru my BIL who got it at a local Raleigh windshield replacement place). I finally got some shower water spots. 2. DP Glass Restorer - a gritty feeling polish. It seemed to do ok on water spots on my back glass. It did not seem as strong as A-MAZ. 3. PB Pro Polish - used it to remove soap scum on shower fixtures. It seems to work ok. I found one key was to use a terry cloth like applicator (something with some bite) and not a mf towel. An orange polishing pad did not have enough bite unless it was under a lot of pressure.
Alternative pads- these 4-inch ‘Metal Polishing Pads’ are made from 600 grit nylon (Scotchbrite®) and are designed for hard / rough surfaces like aluminium diamond plate, pitted aluminium, chrome, and glass. TOL See also -http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f8/polishing-glass-7689.html
