I was at my local Canadian Tire, and ended up picking up their Simonize 7" variable speed polisher, was regularly 99 bucks, on half price 49 bucks, so i couldn't pass it up. I know it's no Dewalt or Makita but i'm only a weekend warrior with maybe a few side jobs. Does anyone have any feedback? is it a decent machine for a weekend warrior? Canadian Tire on the website it says it's a two speed polisher, but it's actually a variable speed 600 to 3000 rpms. any feedback would be great...:mounty: If anyone else is interested it's on sale till the 12th of this month
I can't seem to enter the site...I would really like to give you an opinion. It's probably me...
When they ask for an area code if you look at the message you get when it won't go through it'll throw an alphabetical and numerical zip code as an example, use that.
If the information that you posted is correct. Then I like the machine for fifty bucks. The head on it looks like a Makita...It seems that all the information on that site is incorrect. it says that it's only a 2 speed like you said but the speed wouldn't be any good for polishing. 1100 and 1350 RPM's and It also says that 2/3 horse power. Thats not how these are rated. these are rated by wattage and the weight is off by a pound or two also. This is one of the best cheapeis I think I've seen. You did good for fifty bucks. When it comes time to move up. You will have a spare to take wth you...ATTABOY...Way to go...:thumb:
Thanks for the feedback, i personally think i did alright, i trust the information on the box before the website, but it does look identical to the picture, and it is a variable speed, 600 to 3000 rpms, not sure about the other specs. I think it's pretty good, if i was detailing as a business 12 hrs a day 6 or 7 days a week, maybe i would have made sure i got a makita, but concidering it'll just be for my car and maybe a few side jobs, i think i should suit fine, and if it burns out it's only 50 bucks, if anyone is having trouble accessing it u can just use my area code if you want, L4M 2H7
hmm... might get one of these just to give it a try in stock in nearly all the locations in my area too...
i think it's a pretty good deal, even if you pick one up just to have a back up. Nothing is worse than one crapping out in the middle of a job..
