Look! Look Closely..

Good day everyone. I thought i would share an item that I found in a electronic store.. I've seen other detailers using this tool (may not be the exact item) to see/look closely a scratch or the depth of the scratch..

a magnifier..


do you guys use this on you details?
it cost $10 so i bought it for fun..and it functioned well...:thumb:

Man I've been looking for one of these but I have my eyes set on a different one...:shead: I haven't been able to track down the one I'm after just yet.

um..I can't really describe it but it kinda looks like the ones that they use at the jewelery store..well kinda...:shrug:

you and me both autobahnshine..I've been looking for this tool for quite some time now..still no luck ...I don't know maybe I'm not looking hard enough..watch someoen is going to post and say "here it is Nica" and post a like just you wait....come on any time now.....well at least that's what I'm hoping for :whistle:

 

Ah...nevermind Nica, the one on Finish kare is nowhere near as fancy as that one. I've never even seen someone use something like that. Looks cool though.

 

These things can actually tell you lots about the paint...well according to what I've read as I've never used one of these...I've used a regular magnifying glass but that's about it and even that worked just fine...but the nice thing about these tools is that you can see the depth of the scratch/imperfections...really neat.

I don't know if I would consider this a need...more like a want..but then again life is to short to live off "needs"...lol...just teasing, I'd love to get a tool like this..dosent' have to be high end just something to use and go from there.

ohhh! i know what you mean.. i read from this guy on another forum that tool even measures the depth of the scratch.. hopefully i can still find it...

 

i think i can find that tool that you guys are trying to discuss.. lemme see if it's still there

the one that i was looking for was also from this site but i can't seem to find it.. it's supposed to measure the scratch depth..

They work pretty good at looking at defects.

um...I beleave it's something like that, I haven't been able to find the link off the one that I was refering too...but yes it's something like the link you posted, exept I don't recall being able to do so much...but I just can't remember :shead: :shead:
