Well I figured i would put up a few Photos of the 14 BMW's that we finally finished a few weeks ago. Back in February A well know collector in the BMW world had a Warehouse fire and a lot of the cars received smoke damage. Now i dont know how many of you guys have ever detailed a car that was near a fire but if you do be prepared to chase the smell for days. The smoke gets places you would not believe. Unfortionally we forgot to get many afters of the cars because we were in a big time crunch to get them back to the owner before the reporter came out. All of the afters and story's on the cars will be in a upcoming issue of Bimmer Magazine (when i figure out which one i will update you). This is what we were up against. All of them looked like this or worse. The bad part is they are all stored in a warehouse with the windows down or tops down. After Anyways one of the cars i have befores and afters is this one. You may have seen me post it before but those were just pictures of it in progress. The 14 cars took us 6 months to complete. Half way through the owner entered it in a local Exotic car show and won best detail (and it was only half done lol). These BMWs were more then just details we did some paint work on a bunch of them. We rechromed all the chrome and pot metal. So they were more light restorations. Here she is a 335 BMW only 5 known are left in the world. This is not the same car but it gives you an idea what the 335 looked like before (i can find the actual before picture) I will post it as soon as i find it. After The before pictures of all the cars can be found here Bill Young pictures by jbburn - Photobucket Well It turns out the owner was so happy with our work he gave us a winter project. When it showed up we just started laughing. What the hell did we get our selves into. The owner wants to refinish/ salvage everything we can off of it. (i am the one sitting in it that has a black face, i was metal polishing prior to the picture) It will go through a full cosmetic restoration/detail. I will keep all of you updated on the progress.
Woaaahh, impressive work man. Good luck with that BMW though, really good luck, you have the motivation of a hungry lion. I would've said "f*** off to the customer"
Honestly if it was anyone else we probably would have as well. The fact is had he not sent us his other BMWs we would not be where we are now. The bad part of the new one is we are not mechanics we are detailers. However after the last batch i can take apart and fix damn near anything on a pre war BMW lol. If we do a good job on this one he has 2 others also. We are starting to become a bit more then a detail shop lol
