So I used the LM trio for the first time today, I have used Strong Cleaner many times before but this is the first time using the trio on a full car. I have used it on parts of the seat and leather goods like my wallet and belts. But I found after doing the seats with vital the seats felt almost sticky/rubbery I waited the 1 hr dry time and still felt like it a little so I buffed the seats with a terry towel and did not help that much. I thought oh well and went on to protectant and it is currently drying as we speak but after apply thing and it was touch dry it felt rubbery almost. I was wondering if this is normal and will wear away after a day of use of if I may of applied a little too much vital and need to use some soft clean and re apply protection lotion. Anyone has issues like this or any tips. Also, protection lotion sticks, LM twins smell much better at the end. Also, last one, the temp are pretty high and seats where warm (car was in garage) if that makes a difference) LM Strong: foaming bottle + SV Brush (love it and makes cleaning seats fast, I just used the brush) wiped seats away with Terry Towels (did not use water to rinse, dont know if it is needed) (30 min between) LM Vital: Uber blue applicator (1hr between) LM Protectant: Yellow App
Has been a few hours of drying and still has a grippy feel to the seats, dont know if this is normal with the trio. When you sit in the seats it really does feel like it is holding onto you. Hmm, I know there are many LM users...
I did it with vx5000 steam seats apply LM strong n brush with SV steam to rinse n wipe dry, one seat at a time then apply vital go around then wait 30min buff off 1st seat and apply protection go around the car wait 30 min light buff done. no problem, seems to me you should of had a damp towel to rinse the LM strong
Hmm, idk it is hard to describe the feeling but doe not feel smooth as it does after lets say 1z Leather Care.
Foaming bottle like foaming hand soap comes in. You can get one of those and take the soap out or like I did find some on ebay. Found a 6oz one for cheap, something like few bucks. Should always work leather cleaners as a foam and helps you use less and works great as you can put the foam right on the brush. That is the truth, hopefully it smooths out once i drive around tomm and like it as i dont feel like cleaning the seats again in this heat.
Would you describe it almost like a really grippy wax versus a slick sealant? I would try and wipe down the seats with some plain water just to make sure some of that soap residue is not sticking around.
If you press you hand against the leather it feels sticky almost. I re-cleansed the seat bottom bit ago, cleaned with terry towel and then took damp terry and cleaned seat again and dried. Applied protection and boom went from smooth to sticky feeling almost..not as much but still little. Wondering if the high humidity and heat and affecting the drying as you do not buff/wipe away. Tomorrow i will take a damp terry and wipe down all the seats. If that does not work clean seats again with opt power clean (10:1) and use RG conditioner or 1z leather clean. Just wondering if it is the soap (felt smooth when i just tested again) but issue is when i put protection or vital over it...
Well it was really bothering me so i took a damp terry towel and cleaned the seat with it and dried it and got rid of the sticky feeling. Just dont know if it also took off the protection and have to re apply. I tried some RG conditioner and it did the same sticky bit. Really think it may be due to the high heat and humidity. Cant really keep the windows open as it would let some bugs into it possibly and dont feel like dealing with that.
I never was good at apply thing coat of wax...oh well I will clean the driver seat tomm and start from scratch if it cant get that one going well then I am going back to my trusty 1z leather care.
Yea, the humidity is causing havik on detailers all over this great land right now. Give it another go in a couple months and report back your findings :graduation: I struggle enough everyday already. Last thing I need is a leather conditioner that leaves the surface sticky. I don't think my clientle would appreciate getting there Armani's all yucked up :yikes:
If the sticky feeling is gone after wiping with damp towel I think you should just leave it as it is till next time you do the whole procedure again. No point going overboard with products on the seats. They don't need to be conditioned everyday.
1z leather care is great and have had no issues with it in humidity. I would say best bang for the buck in terms of leather conditioner. For cleaner, opt power clean works great.
How much Vital did you use? You didn't flood the leather, did you? I apply it thin, let it dry for 1 hour, and the appy protectant...after 30 minutes you are good to go...and yes, it does feels different then 1Z leather care, or many other conditioners out there, but it eliminates leather "sqeek"...Been using LM for years and really like it. BTW, if you want a really silky smooth finish, why don't you apply Ultima Interior Guard plus when you are done?
May of applied bit too much of vital, applied it till i could see it turn the leather black (seat are a very very dark gray)...on the back seats that dont get used ever i just went quick and seems to not turned out sticky. But has that soft touch feel to the leather. Do you wipe off the seats after using strong clean with a damp towel? I do not have any ultima interior guard, just trim and tire dressing from that them. Plan of action is to wipe all the seats with damp terry towel and call it a day.
