so whats the difference between those kinds? is liquid one doesnt have nearly as much carnuba content as paste or hard wax? sinse i didnt see liquid wax for more then 30-40 there is gotta be reason for this.
Liquid or Paste Wax Most car care product chemists agree that when it comes to a wax formulation there is no advantage between pastes, creams or liquids. It has more to do with production cost and marketing than; its protection or surface gloss abilities. Liquid or cream type waxes are easier to apply, although removal is about the same. The only ingredients that will make a difference are wax quality and its percentage content, and the carrier system (i.e. type of solvent / silicone and / or mineral or natural oils used)
It can have the same ratio of waxes, but it will have a higher solvent content (the bit that makes it a liquid) which throws the percentages of this and that out. In the case of say Collinite 845 (semi-liquid) vs Collinite 476s, they both use naphtha as the main solvent and while I'm not privy to the actual blend in these two products, to me they appear pretty darn similar except that 845, when well shaken, pours like a liquid and thus contains significantly more naphtha. 476s is of course much more like a hockey puck! <grin> Regards Christian
