I've noticed many of you use separate lighting units with two flood lights on a tripod. What brands would you recommend for those and why?
I have a basic Craftsman dual halogen light from Sears hardware. I think they list for around $35 or so, but can be found on sale in the 20s if you hit them on a sale. I know some folks have had problems with theirs breaking (plastic parts), but mine have been holding up fairly well. If you don't have any yet, they are definitely a good investment. And they serve as a heater too in the winter!!!
I got mine from Costco. They work pretty well, just have to watch the fuse with 2 polishers and 2 sets of flood lamps on
:agree: 100% with everything he said, I got mine for $25 on sale I think, and they've served their purpose just fine. I find myself using them for much more then detailing too.
Agree with most above. I have the Craftsman light. $23 on sale, had a gift card from Christmas so it was free. And still have $14 on the card!!
