Hi Everyone, I'm new on this site and this is my 1st post. I am a car enthusiast and considered myself a decent detailer - until I saw some of your work here! Wow! I seriously need to improve my work and am interested to learn. My first goal is to get a nice foamer. I have already purchase the Cam Spray Foamer 527100: Cam Spray 527100 - Foamer Attachment and now need to know how to connect it to a Karcher pressure washer. There is an outlet store close to my place that is selling the Karcher 1500 PSI (k2.26MR) and the 1700 PSI (k3.79MR) for dirt cheap. The 1700 PSI unit is $40 more. I've got 2 questions. 1. Which Karcher unit should I purchase? Is it worth the extra $40 for 200 more PSI? Anyone here have experience with either units? 2. What connectors do I need to purchase to connect the Karcher pressure washer to the Cam Spray Foamer attachment above? Reading these forums, I know many of you own both the PS and the Cam Foamer, so I sure hope you can help me. I did spend some time searching the posts, but I wasn't able to find a clear answer. Sorry if this is duplicate, but I really appreciate a quick answer. That outlet place is selling out of the Karcher PW quickly. Thanks agian & looking forward to meeting new friends here!
Welcome to the forums. I think you need to buy this pressure washer. It is much better than a Karcher, but has the same psi (Karcher is designed to be used for 20 minutes once a month to wash your driveway, Cam Spray designed to be used commercially). My Karcher literally exploded two days after I got it. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=343 If you aren't willing to spend that much, you should return it and get this one... it will work on a Karcher. Snow Foam Lance
thanks very much MB43. Yeah, that PW from DetailersDomain for $800 is way too much for me. I sure hope my Karcher doesn't die in 2 days like yours... That other Snow Foam lance looks good, but it's shipping from UK. I was hoping to work with someone within North America. Thanks for your suggestions! I really appreciate it!
I said that same exact thing when someone shared the link with me... it is really the best foam cannon out there. Actually I don't think there is one that you can order from the US. BTW, if you decide to order from the UK, when checking out, use the code foamlance for 5% off. The foam cannon is very high quality and has great foam. I love mine.
This is what you need to get the Camspray to hook up to the Karcher Karcher Adapter A Coupler, Twist 22mm x 22mm I have both the camspray and the Foamlance They both work exactly the same . I also have recently purchased the camspray 1500A pressurewasher as it is pricey but it is a major difference in quality compared to the Karcher unit. But the Karcher unit is nore than sufficient if your just doing a few cars .As I needed the heavy Duty unit for my purposes. You will be more than happy with the Camspray and Karcher setup.
Theres a post on this forum that has a link to a foam canon. It's $75 bucks shipped to the US with the necessary attachment.
your talking about this one . HD Foam Lance - Polished Bliss Car Care and Detailing Products I have this as well as the cam and it is a great unit . They both work exactly the same . As he already has the camspray no need to change . Only thing with the camspray is he will want to change out the bottle for a 320z standard and a longer tube.
Thanks for all your help & suggestions guys! Much appreciated! Another quick question. Typically, how long do you leave the foam on your cars before rinsing? I've searched and found people leave the foam from 5 min's up to 15 min's. I don't know if leaving the foam for too long will cause spots? I do have a water softener before the PW. Thanks!
I myself let it sit until starts to breakup anywhere between 5 -10 min then pressure rinse then wash with the mitt and bucket . The water softener should help depending on the flow capacity of the unit. I have been thinking about a CRSpotless unit as one of my next investment
Sorry to keep asking you questions, but can you guys please chime in and let me know what soap product you use with your foamer / PW? I searched and many use Meguiar's HyperWash. I actually enjoy Meguiar's product so I called their Customer Care 1-800 #. The gentleman on the phone said none of their soaps are meant for pressure washers - including the HyperWash. When I said that many detailing professionals on this forum use it, he simply responded that I could use anything if I diluted it enough... can you comment? I really like Meguiar's Gold Class. Can I use that with my foamer? Thanks again!
I hear that Hyperwash works great but I have not used it. I use Adam's carwash,CG CGW,And Zaino Z7 all have worked out great for me. I'm sure the Goldclass would work. You just have to figure out what Dilution mix works best for you. Hey questions are what this forum is for .Thats how we all learn
Karcher is not reliable. It's made only for little jobs. Get the following: AR PROLINER-TSS - Prosumer 1450 PSI (Electric-Cold) Pressure Washer
The Karchers are ok for folks who only are doing there cars I myself have upgraded to this and love it Cam Spray 1500A - Prosumer 1450 PSI (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer
I've had a consumer grade Karcher for nearly two years and haven't experienced any issues; I use it fairly often. I just maintain it properly (i.e., clear out any air before turning on motor, move indoors during freezing temperatures, disconnect hose and allow residual water to drain from the unit after each use). The autobrite foam cannon (available via Polished Bliss) works well with the Karcher. I have the means to upgrade; however, I'm content with my setup and don't really see a reason to do so.
