    Hello,

I finally had time to test the sample of wax that Juztang had sent me. I received it a few weeks ago, but with my parents being here from Europe and the move to our new house, anything to do with cars or washing them was on hold! I finally had some time this weekend to slap a layer of Zaino on my truck and try out Wet Obsession on my wife's Explorer.

Background: paint polished with PO85RD a few months ago, layer of Jetseal applied a week ago. Washed Explorer with Gold Class, dried with Guzzler.

When I received the wax a few weeks ago, it was very very very soft. Almost a liquid. I stored it in a cool place for two weeks and when I got it out this morning, it was still very soft but applying it on my foam applicator was not a problem. I merely had to dab in it to be able to get enough on.

I decided to test the wax out in full sun. The black bonnet had been sitting for at least a few hours in the direct sun and was very hot. I applied the wax in circular and straight motions, let it sit for 30 seconds to one minute and then wiped off with my CG Black/Yellow MF. The wax came off as I would have expected. This is worst case scenario for any product and I was satisfied. There was some very slight streaking, but a second wipe took care of that.

The rest of the vehicle was a treat. I found that letting it sit for 30 seconds to a minute was not enough. I doubled that time to about 2-3 minutes and removing the wax become twice as easy. I applied it panel per panel at first, then did half of the vehicle at once. The latter method worked better.

Smells great. There were no perfumes, just the smell of what wax is supposed to smell like. Straight business! I had some issues with large "bits" of wax crumbling off the block in the pot, but it was not a real issue. Probably cooling the wax a bit more would have helped.

All in all, I was very pleased. It's the first wax I've used that visibly makes the paint darker. I did a 50/50 on the hood and even though the camera couldn't catch it, with the bare eye about 5 feet away it was very obvious. Perfect for black paint!

I would recommend this wax to anyone. The price is right, the look is fantastic and above all, it's easy to apply and remove.

I will report back on durability and beading.

Thanks for the sample Juztang!!! :applause2:

awesome review there bro!!! hhhmmmm... durability would be a key factor for me. But i think AL-53 said it was a spin of the regular 50/50 which is a great wax, this just might be a better bang for the buck

I have seen 3 reviews on this wax so far...and it is very nice looking....I think juztang has a real winner here....

It looks great on that paint..to me no different than a high price wax like Sov and Fuzion and some others in the 200 dollar range...it looks very wet..deep and warm...

You won't see me spend $100+ on a wax anytime soon when I can buy a wax like this one for half the price.

It rained last night. Let's just say that NO ONE will be disappointed by the beading on this one, very similar to Pete's '53. Durability test coming soon.

Nice writeup bud! I'm glad you were happy with the wax.

I think the crubling issues you were noticing was due to the fact that I had to break up pieces out of a tin to make samples. In the tin it doesn't break up and goes on like butter.

That black paint looks deep and wet!

I appreciate you sending me a sample. I wouldn't say what I did in the review if I hadn't meant it and was as honest as possible in my review.

Was the sample the exact same wax that will come from the full production run?

Yes, the sample was the same as the production version.

I do appreciate your honest feedback. I've sold tons of Wet Obsession so far but not too many reviews or pictures on the forums yet.

As an update, beading at today's wash was minimal enough to where I felt it needed another layer. That's a good six weeks of protection from this wax, with only Last Touch used between washes.

Since it darkens the paint, does it mute flakes on metallics?

I have not used it on metallic paint yet, so I cannot comment on that...

I currently have it on my Integra (Flamenco Black Pearl). From what I can tell it didn't mute the flakes at all but I'll do a wash on it tomorrow to reinspect it again and confirm my results. ODWO has been on for about a week and a half so far.

I've used it on a lot of metallics and I don't think it mutes them at all. Actually I've had customers that have said it really makes their metallic pop out.
