    Just bit this from slickdeals.

    Canon T1i kit (18-55mm lens)
    Canon 55-250mm lens
    UV filter
    Canon Pixma Pro9000 MKII

Total was $1200, but theres a $400 rebate and I'm going to flip the printer on eBay for $250ish.

So body + 2 lens + filter for $600 and change!

My first DSLR, hopefully I won't regret this impulse buy.

Minh, if I were you, I'd sell that second lens as well. It should sell quickly on either Craigslist or POTN. Put the funds together, and buy yourself one fantastic lens. Maybe even sell the 18-55mm as well.

    Just a thought!

You'll enjoy the new camera. Even on auto, it'll take amazing pics.

I would definitely do this once I can afford to. Unfortunately my 18-55 is non-IS. :(

    I'm definitely considering a 17-55 or 24-70.

ugh, had to cancel my order on the camera

The $400 rebate probably wouldn't go through....

Sorry to hear spk!! Check Adorama or BH Photo. You can get a body and lens for about $750 or so. You can even look at a refurb for about $650 or so.

nvm, bought it again. So many people called Canon about the rebate that they will now honor it, cool beans!

What lens do you guys recommend? I just want one that is good for point and shoot, close ups, etc.

It really depends on how much you're willing to spend. Personally though, I'm planning on a 24-70.

i'd say the best range for that would be the 17-55 f/2.8, 17-40L f/4, or your kit lens. I would add some primes to your collection though. You'd be surprised as to how useful primes can be.

I just picked one up as well as my canon xti broke on me.

I beleive its 650 body only from J&R.

Pretty cool camera...I still can't take good pics though..

    Still have your XTi Phil?

I do have the xti but the compact flash memory card ejector needs to be repaired, I'm waiting for warranty to cover and go over the camera.

if you are interested I'll sell for an amazing deal body only.

Just got off the phone with my dad yesterday, he's going to sell me his 40D over Christmas. With less than 5,000 actuations, should be like BRAND NEW!!!
