Since I've posted any of my orders, well when Ben showed those lovely small backing plates I couldn't resist so I placed an order at the same time a member here had 6 3M backing plates, they gray ones and well I couldn't resist and ordered those in as well and here are all the goodies.

Oh a big thank you to Ben for the little extras, very much appreciated and boy you don't fool around with shipping :applause:

Well on to the pictures, lets start off with the Rubbish Boy order:

    First the box

I always enjoy receiving items from the UK :thumb:

    Lovely packing too

I think the personalized note is a very nice touch, well done Ben.

I wanted to try the drying towel and Ben was kind enough to throw in the blue towel, both towels are extremely soft. I'm looking forward to putting both towels to good use.

Now for the lovely backing plate, I just can't seem to have enough backing plates :headbang::headbang:

    Small little bugger.

I'm looking forward on putting it to good use too. I'm quite curious how the size will perform.

The other item Ben threw in the box is this:

If I'm not mistaken this pad is a finishing pad, it has a nice feel to it and the velcro side is indented inside the foam pad, making it easier to center it with the 3M pads. Can never have enough foam pads :thumb: Will see how this pad performs

Well that's one package, now for the next package.

Once again, always so anxious to receive UK items.

Here is what it has inside:

The person was even kind enough to put the original boxes of the backing plates :thumb:

Now I have quite a few of the 3M UK Yellow foam pads but I have never tried these grey 3M UK pads, the foam feels much, much softer, here take a look:
It's actually quite easy to squeeze this pad, with the yellow backing plate it's much harder to squeeze the foam.

Well all this opening boxes and taking pictures made me hungry and I wanted to fool around with the camera and took the following pictures, just for kicks

It was dinner time and thought a nice bottle of wine would go well with the evening. Well I say nice but I've never had this wine so figured I'd give it a go.

Now that the adults had some to drink I made sure our little princess had something to go with the fine dinner ;)

Here's me just trying to be a bit creative

Now the meal looked so good I just had to take a picture of my healthy portion :druling: :druling: Oh and it was delusions, a big :applause: to the missis for the lovely dinner.

Well hope I didn't make some of you too hungry, but just thought I'd share some of the new toys added to my never ending collection :thumb:

Great haul there Carlos! What size threading are those 3M UK gray backing plates and the really small backing plates? :)

So Nica, buddy, what do you do with all those lovely UK backing plates? Hmmmm?

The gray 3M UK backing plate is 5/8th threads, so it will fit my Metabo with out the use of the M14 adaptor I had made. The small backing plate in the other hand, is an M14 thread backing plate, so for this small backing plate I'll have to use the M4 adaptor.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll put both backing plates to good use as I started detailing the Volvo today, it doesn't need a heavy correction but I wanted to give it a pass or two with 85RD just to make it shine even more...oooh and I really wanted to see Crystal Rock on it, should give the vehicle great depth.

I'll make some videos of me using the backing plates to polish, should be interesting.

what my wine wasnt good enough for that feast?

ohh how was the wine you had? worth picking up?

ohh and when do i get to come for a dinner like that?

Um..well one of each I'll make sure is always inside the Metabo case the rest...well the rest go with the rest of the goodies, but if any of you want any of these backing plates your more then welcome to have some. When ever I order I make sure I order enough to spread the products with anyone here :thumb:...yea that's it...that's how I justify ordering in bulk now

Glad they arrived safely Carlos, and thanks for the order. That white foam is indeed a finishing foam, very soft.

Oh and can I come to your house for dinner, looks very tasty. :giggle:

lol...I'm still a little ify with your wine Mike...I mean I wouldn't want to loose my ability to see just yet :lol2: just teasing. I'm actually gong through the wines I got in order, meaning I write the date I purchased the wine and that's the order I drink them, there are two more bottles before your's but I might feel brave tomorrow and just give it a shot..you just never know lol.

This wine we had today, it wasn't bad at all. Wasn't to dry either...but not worth picking up a case of it, I'll definitely get another bottle and keep in on hand though.

As for you coming over for dinner, no way, there's barely enough for my belly hahahaha just teasing, when the missis cooks she usually cooks for about 7 people, I eat for about 3 though so it actually works out that there are just enough left overs for me to take for lunch the next day..during the week that is. On weekends, such as this meal...there was nothing left but a clean plate and an empty bottle of wine :thumb: I'll have to invite you one of these days for dinner, I think you'd like it the missis sure can cook

Thank you for the little extras Ben, I wasn't expecting anything extra but I truly appreciated the gesture.

The foam pad looks good and it feels great too, as for dinner, my house is always open for guests, plenty to go around in my house, shame you live so far though. It would be great to share a meal with some, if not all, the members here :thumb:

hah well wine dont try it.. actually i tried it today with a friend, it has cleared up and tastes ok now....

as for the wine you had, are you sure it wasnt dry? most reds (ok i mean pretty much all) are dry wines, they are fruity which people think is sweet but it is infact not sweet. What makes a wine sweet is residule sugers wich reds often dont have (hence a high booze level)

ok so im showing my wine nerdiness :applause2:..anyway, back to the topic at hand

    nice pads :crasy:

Well yes, most if not all red wines are abit dry..well compared to white wines that is but this one wasn't too bad. it went well with the meal, oh and that was all fluke because as you know I'm just getting into wines. For me right now it's hit and miss, I'm just trying what's recommended by a bunch of friends besides I'm always open to try something new :thumb:

I'll give your wine a go, if I don't like it well I don't have to drink it but I should at least give it a go, no harm can come out of that....I hope :paranoia: lol..just teasing :comfort:

I am using a Makita right now so would I need an adapter for it? That grey backing plate looks sooooo soft. Pm me a price for the bp and adapter if you have them.

Man! You are living large over there Carlos. The food looks great, and those towels look amazing.

The grey 3M Backing plate will fit your Makit just fine, it has 5/8th threads on it so it should fit it no problem. I'll put it on my Metabo tomorrow, it says 5/8th on the backing plate it's self so it should be fine but till I physically don't put it on the Metabo I say it "should". I'll use it tomorrow. As for price, that's the thing. I only paid $150.00 (US) for all six, that included the shipping and they came all the way from the UK as well....I couldn't pass up this great deal. So really if you break it down the 6 pads came out to be $25 each..that's just too good so I had to jump on it...besides I've always been curious about this backing plate, I really like the yellow foam 3M UK backing plate I wonder how I'll like this grey pad...I mean I wonder if it will be too soft...although it says that the grey backing plate is for finishing the yellow one says for compounding, I've been using the yellow one for everything, including Menzerna wool pads and it performs well

Thank you doc, now don't go thinking we eat like this every day...no sir, only on weekends do we have time to a nice family dinner. Most of the time during the week I get home and it's just about bed time and I hardly ever eat dinner with the family during the week that is. So weekends we enjoy as much time as we can as a family :thumb:

As for the towels, yes they look and feel great, can't wait to put them to good use :cheerl:

As for elk and moose, no I'm all out. Hopefully this winter I'll get some more moose meat :thumb:
