It is possible to detail without electricity?

I used a whole range of Autoglym products but I face a limitation of not having electricity, meaning no pressure washer, no polisher. After trying to detail like 20 cars, none of them look flawess, they bound to have some deep scratches, paint spot, stone chip defects which I could not eliminate with my arms!

Hope to hear more advices on about what are your recommended products or techniques you would use if you do not have any machinary.

By the way, these are some of the products I used,

    AG Bodywork shampoo
    AG Engine & Machine cleaner
    AG Intensive Tar remover
    AG Multiwash (powermax 3)
    AG Fast glass
    AG Vinvl and Rubber care
    AG Bumper care
    AG Super Resin Polish
    AG Paint Renovator
    AG O3B (bodyshop fine abrasive)
    AG Clean wheels
    AG Leather Cleaner
    AG Interior Shampoo
    AG Instant Tyre dressing
    AG Car glass polish
    AG Extra Gloss Protection
AG High Defination Wax - Always seems misty on hood after buffing wax away, read that it is cause due to 'wax sweating' still looking for a solution to kill it)
    AG Supreme Polish
Turtle Wax premium gloss Paste Wax (Used once and put it aside)
Moxi Clay Bar/ Soft99 Clay Bar

There's no way you can come as close to perfection without a polisher. Polishing by hand just doesn't cut it, no pun intended. Why don't you have electricity? Ever think of a generator?

I agree about the generator idea.

No electricity :yikes: no way I could go back to polishing by hand :shakehead: that and the results will never be the same.

I'm curious why no electricity, you don't really need a pressure washer to be honest but you do need a polishing machine (DA or Rotary).

I agree with these guys, detailing without electricity is an exercise in futility. All you will wind up doing is frustrating yourself. Get a small generator. I got a small(1850 watt) Coleman from Home Depot for about $450. Honda EU cyclo inverters are cheap right now and are dead quiet-my personal favorite.:thumb:

I guess it is time to get one.

And for interiors, a wet vac is pretty much manditory.

I guess it is possible to detail without electricity and polish by hand (Meg's Scratch X?) but it definitely wouldn't be profitable ... once you get going you'll realize how quickly you can regain the cost of equipment.

Very nice. You'll find you'll be sweating less and won't have carpal tunnel. Not to mention the quality of the job you'll be doing.

Indeed we have electricity everywhere in singapore. Sad to say, all public points are locked up by the govt and you got to pay to use them.

Good call on getting the Makita and generator. Paint correction with a PC is tough enough (no offence to PC users) but by hand is just crazy. :) enjoy.
