I have actually found that the reverse process to how Iron cut (ironx) is supposed to work works better for me. i will lay out my process and why I think it works better.
    1. Rinse down car and normal
    2. wash car with shampoo
    3. rinse car
    4. claybar the car while wet and using QD as additional lube
    5. rinse again
    6. spray iron cut and let dwell for a few mins
    7. re wash car quickly and rinse for the last time
    8. dry the car

I find claying the car first takes care of the bigger stuff and that allows ironx (iron cut) to attack the stuff that is left in the paint. I use a mild claybar, riccardo blue, soon to be Autowerkes clay for me and I haven't seen any marring. hope this helps.

Do you see clear results of IronCut working on most cars, or is it only the really filthy cars (what they looked like before wash/clay)?

i use this on germans for the most part. VW, Audi, and BMW. the paint clears up nicely on white and silver. all the brown specs diasappear with little effort. you save time on claying as you dont have to get it perfect the first timea.

Do you find your method cuts down on time or cost?

Thanks to the OP for the method using the Iron cut. I have ordered some and this gives me another option on how to test it out. always good to think outside the box.

I'm going to try this new method this weekend. I'm working on my brother-in-law's Pathfinder. It has never seen a clay and it's white. It's full of rail dust ... I'm in for a treat!!
