I will be getting an iPod touch soon. I have had an iPod in the past, but not one that could play movies. Can I download dvd's I currently own onto it, or do I have to buy movies from iTunes? Also, how do you put stuff from youtube on there? T.I.A. -Roger.
There are several programs which you can buy from your PC that'll transfer your DVDs into an iPod format, but it costs some $$. There is a direct link on the home screen to Youtube but I'm not sure if your able to save and view videos when your not on wireless. Congrats on the purchase, it's a sweet piece, got my GF a 16 gig for x-mas and wished I kept it for myself .
You have to buy software to convert the DVD's and they take forever. You can rent and buy movies from iTunes and they load pretty quickly. The youtube stuff has a button choice for format...i think its MP4. You just DL it to your computer, add it to itunes and synch it like a song. Itunes will let you choose how to manage your videos, music and pics separately.
What you want is "Videora iPod Touch Converter." Its freeware and I use it all the time. Currently I'm in a Disney phase so I have Kung-Fu Panda on there
I gots me a Zune. Not as nice of a screen but cheaper and it has a radio and some good features as well.
