I got a bottle of Black Wow from Phil at DD last week. I finally had an opportunity to try it.

I did the back bumper plastic piece on a '97 Chevy P/U, the front cowl piece of an '05 Civic, and some window trim on a '95 Civic.

    Sorry, no pics. :(

My first thought is that it really works! The plasic comes out very nice and black. Its got a real nice satin finish. It doesn't look greasy which is an issue I've had with other product. It smells really nice too. I had to step on the bumper of the truck the next day, and I was scared to slip off. I didn't, the finish is very nice.

The pieces I did were REALLY dry and hammered. I must say that that I had to use a little more than other people did. Maybe because my parts hadn't had any product on it in a while, or maybe because I used a small piece of MF rather than foam.

I'm very interested to see how it holds up, this will be my main issue. I'll report back on that later.

Initial impression. Good product! I will upgrade when I see how it holds up. All 3 cars live outside (Nor-Cal) so we'll see soon!

I used it again today on our Volvo XC90 and it looked a little streaky to me on the larger areas. I was using a foam applicator so I decided to switch to a brand new applicator that is covered with MF and that gave me perfect even coverage. I think with the MF I used a little more product too reefer but the coverage and look was exactly what I was looking for. I have used the product twice and I'm perfectly happy with it.

I Have Used This Product Twice And Have Found It To Streak After It Rains.
Also Does Not Seem To Clean Polish Residue But Mask It Which Reappears After Black Wow Wears Off.

Might Be My Techinque But Have Tried Applying With Foam Pad And Mf And Really Worked The Product In And Give Final Wipe But Still Seems To Streak

one additional note... I got some on the windshield.

    Not a good idea.

It took several cleanings with fresh towels to get the residue off.

    **Information Based On Research*

Streaking can/will occur when plastic is not clean.

Was the surface plastic, how much product did you use, did you use exactly how directed?
I ask was it plastic because this product is not for rubber.. It will not absorb and will sit on the surface and run off when the vehicle gets wet.

Again was it thoroughly clean?? With MF and APV does MF come clean???

Well it rained like a mutha yesterday and the trim on my Jeep was still intact. I had no streaking whatsoever.

I did clean all the plastic with a 50/50 alcohol/water solution. I just think the streaking I got was from the foam applicator on the very large areas like the bumpers. When I used the MF applicator the coverage was perfect.

spoke with Richard from Showcardetailing.com (creator of BW) he took a look and here are some tips and comments.

1.) The ratio of cleaner to protectant is pretty small, meaning that if you need more cleaning action, you have to use more BW. It also helps to use an applicator with some bite like a shop rag for the initial removal of wax/polish build up. It won't be a simple wipe on and wipe off procedure to remove the buildup, but if you tried removing the buildup without the BW, you will find it comes off easier because of the cleaner in BW. However, it was intentional not to use strong cleaners.

2.) BW doesn't streak when applied properly. Most of the time I've seen this is when people had a pre-existing dressing product, so putting BW over that caused unevenness.

3.) I use a MF applicator pad and devote that to BW. Because BW doesn't dry on the applicator pad, you can reuse that pad in the future without applying more BW, or at the very least, you will use less BW when using that same applicator pad.

4.) After applying the BW, hit it with water to test it. I'm not talking 5 minutes later, I'm talking second later. If the water doesn't bead up and sheet off, then something is wrong with your application.
    BW doesn't streak.

#3 was the thing that made application so much easier for me. As soon as I switched to the MF applicator the Black Wow worked to perfection!
