soooooooo i have had a string of harder paint cars in the last 2 weeks...enough to wish i had a knight hawk black honda to work on.....a f355 ferrari which wasnt bad at all honestly then a daytona blue 350z which almost made me throw my pc ...a repainted white accord...and now a huge white lifted 2500 dodge ram that barely fits in my work area......anyway i have been a pc user since like 2002 ...i have in the last two years started doing more and more details at a higher level and detail 3-4 days a week with a 7424 and a 7336. im thinking its time to step up to another machine ...i used a buddies flex orbital the other day and was impressed ....im wondering is the flex orbital and the griots or the flex 14-2 rotary and a ptg the better next step?

The Griots combined with MF cutting discs with yield amazing results. Even without the rotary, polishing without a PTG is dicey. If you can afford one, get one. Happiness is never having to say you're sorry.

Get used to the hard paints bro, they're catching on with a lot of the manufacturers these days! I'm in Europe and about 95% of the cars I do are either VAG, ceramic or some other silly-hard paint. Become friends with a rotary and don't be afraid to manhandle these paints... they will take it! I was in Athens, Greece last year doing a detailing seminar and we did some testing on Toyota paint, previously known as "butter-soft" and I literally COUND NOT burn through the paint. I spent at least 10 solid minutes with the rotary on speed 5 with my heaviest compound and couldn't burn through it...

We even got the paint SO hot that we could cook an egg on it!!!

I tame hard paints... they don't phase me any more... if you ever need any advice on them please feel free to call me any time! I'm about 8-9 hours ahead of you guys in the US so keep that in mind ;)!

    Cheers,

    Jesse
