Well as I am learning how to polish I am having trouble... fine scratches and swirls aren't going away. I am using Menzerna IP with a Griot's Garage Random Orbital on speed 5 and 6 but nothing is seeming to work. Any ideas? Thanks!

Depends on what pad you are using.

Small pads (5") are the way to go... I never had the patience to try and correct with anything smaller when I was using a DA

    Smaller pad = smaller surface
Smaller surface = more heat (less area to disperse heat)
    more heat = faster correction

I have used a LCC orange pad 6.5 and a 5.5 orange pad also that came with the ip

You need to finish down with a white pad with a finishing polishing. What you are seeing is hazing from a more aggressive polish and pad combo.

Actually you should finish polish with a blue or black pad.

I will! So what I am trying to understand is, that the final polish will fully correct and get rid of the swirls?

    Why blue/black instead of white?

The blue and black pads are a finishing polish pads and add to the gloss factor over a white pad. The pad will induce a little marring also, I only use the white pad when I want to do light correct work and always finish polish with a blue or black pad.

Well yes, the final polish should remove minor imperfection like what your describing...minor scratches...basically a final polish is giving the paint that extra gloss that you wont get from the corection process, you get some gloss but not like a finishing polish process.
