So I was thinking if I had 25k to spend on a car what would I pick up..

These are what I would look at
91-94 - 911 C2 or C4 Coupe
95-96 - 911 C2 or C4
96-99 M3 Coupe - Had one would love to get another
99-01 M Coupe
92-94 MB 500E /E500

What would you choose?

I also would get a 99 M3.

 

Lancia Stratos tho that would prob exceed 25k despite being old
else... 911 C4 10+ years old ones should be around 25k

 

The Mercedes and the BMW's on that list don't cost 25k even if it is clean! I'm not so sure about the Porsche's on the list. I have a soft spot for the BMW's and Mercedes on that list and would probably get one, but I would still go for one of the Porsches for a more performance oriented car.

The M3 or E500, I'm biased towards BMW and MB, though. The M3 is a classic as is the MB. Depends what you're looking for. You could turn an M3 into something really special with some mods and it would be a blast! Wish I was in your spot, heck you could probably get the M3 and E500 both for 25k!

Can't forget my GTO either. Love those Turbo 6's. I just looked at simple mods for the 03 Cobras. You could spend 300 bucks and get 60hp out of it. Terminator motors are just nasty. Same for the LSx series, but of course the S/C motors are going to be more responsive. I remember my first drive in a 03, took my buddy's black convertible 6 speed out with a heavy duty clutch. Mid-summer, those were the days. That thing could freakin MOVE!
