...detailing that is. I'm going to transfer to UCSD away from home and my working garage. Also, I'm going to start the Paramedics career late May or early June. Between that, school, girlfriend, and maybe even photography, I most likely will not have time to do any detailing anymore. But... How do you give up something like this? I've been detailing for just two years, but it's sort of become part of my identity. I'd be lost! Also... how long do polishes last? I just bought some PO203S. I recall vaguely that the bottle said it lasts two years. I have so much stuff I want to keep, but if I really think about it, I want to keep everything! The paramedics job is also gonna pay for my first new (used) car. :afro: I've been looking at 91-93 SW20 MR2 Turbos for the past few weeks. Red or blue would be my first choice. I'd be severely annoyed if I couldn't detail it though.
Good luck on your new endeavors. I have had Menz for 3 years and it works just fine. As long as you keep it out of extreme temps it will last a while. Most detailing stuff will last a while it kept at steady temps.
Congrats on your new career. Just sell your polishes and keep the rest. You will come back to detailing at some-time, so just put this on hold for now.
I don't think you ever "give up" something like detailing - but put on pause for a period, like Legacy said. I'd sell the stuff that will expire in the near future, and keep the rest. Congrats on the new career path!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I honestly don't see time for detailing in the future though. I'm planning to go to medical school after I graduate. After that, it's going to be most likely a family and the doctor career. I think it's time I just give it up completely since all the stuff will just collect dust.
Its funny, we're a very caring group of individuals. So best of luck! But you know as soon as you start selling we're all over you like vultures.
Yeah, dont give up on detailing. Plus this is a big family. You will find time do do it here and there. Good luck on schooling and hope it pans out well for you!
No reason to stop... makes no sense to stop! Ya since school started again my car has only been washed every 2 weeks or so.... but it still gets washed....
Haha, I think it's a combination of the lack of time and lack of area to detail. Also, I really want an MR2! When I keep looking into detailing, I keep wanting to buy more stuff which eventually turns to checkout which is bad for the future MR2!
I was a medic for a private company in L.A. when I attended grad school. You'll likely be on a Kelly schedule, no?? If so, you should still have plenty of time to knock out a few cars per month!! Andy
Good luck with the new carrer Spec! I would kepp a lot of yopur stuff in case you get to do a job here and there as well as for doing your own car.
Thats awesome specc. I was looking at becoming an emt. Any advice? I also dont think youll quit completely. You might put off a wash a bit further but youll never fully quit. Especially with you getting your first "new" car, thats even more reason not to
Congrats on your decision to continue your education. You're going to love San Diego. Just stay focused on your studies and not the bikinis and you'll do fine. Also, keep your detailing items. You can make some money on the weekends to pay for your study materials and other expenses. As a heads up, The Bronx has the best pizza in town, despite its location in a "happy" neighborhood.
Congrats dude. You will love San Diego. You have to hangout at the Gas Lamp District when you get here.
Don't quit. Just keep your stuff and find time to detail. Stop buying stuff ( I know, good advice from me, right?) and focus on your life. Detailing will always have a place in your life, even if it is a smaller place.
