I sit me or the machine?

I have a Griots Garage DA I have been using for about a year now, zero problems with it until my last detail. I was using the Meguiars Microfiber cutting disc, like I have since the release, and I melted the velcro. No biggie a lot of people have done so, well melted my second one right after. Then I switched to a Buff and Shine yellow pad and melted a hole through the backside right through the foam in the direct center. Finishing up the detail this morning using another yellow B&S pad and it started acting weird I took it off the DA and noticed the center was very hot and weak like the foam inside is broken down. Is it me all of a sudden? Do I have a problem with my GG DA? Is it my backing plate? I have been using the GG DA since last year, been using Meg MF since the release this year and been using the CG backing plate since June. I have done atleast 15 details with the combo and have had zero issues :shead:

I have the same machine, just under a different name, colour etc., and was also eating my pads if was spinning fast - It is a very powerful machine.
There have been some posts on DW about heat issues using e.g. Flexipads BPs with the Megs MF systems, and traders like Polished Bliss recommend that the Meguiars BPs are used instead.

After switching my standard BP on my DAP900(same as the GG machine) to a 125mm Meguiars BP I haven't had any heat issues, so now I'm buying the spot pad BP from Megs as well.

    Look at these threads:

    Kind regards,

Will do some reading on DW. I have been using the system with zero problems not excessive heat or anything until now
