what do you guys do when compounding/polishing paintwork without damaging the striping tape?

my friend had damage his back in summer when i let him borrow my machine and he passed his stripings and got removed..

You can go around them, tape them off, or very lightly go over them if you have the experience.

 I agree with Asphalt Rocket, either avoid them, tape them off or just very gently go over it...if at all possible avoid them as they can get damaged quite easely. Taping them work fine too..just my :2cents:

Tape the top edge off and go along it with the polisher, doing your full process. THEN remove and tape along the lower edge, go along it again. That's the only way that you aren't going to get a small area that is left untouched.

I agree, tape or go around.
