    Hey guys,

How do you clean really dirty doorjambs?

If anyone is kind enough to post a step by step process of how you prep the area, rinse it off, protect it, or whatever you guys do.

    Thanks a million! :thumb:

spray it with degreaser. let it sit as you would on normal exterior paint surfaces. agitate and rinse. repeat if needed

    M3ride. Wax on..Wax off

^^Only thing I would add is apply spray wax after wards and top it up every wash.

    Thanks fellas.

How do you rinse door jams? I mean it's not like you can take a hose and rinse it off.... the water will go everywhere and possibly mess up electrical components if there are any. For example, shutting the door and spraying water from the outside into the door gap will not go all the way through to the entire area because I have tried that already.

Spray with APC, agitate with brush, wipe with old microfiber.

Spray it with a hose...You can. Just be careful for the back splash. What electric components are visible through the door jams? Probably as many as you take a hose to the engine bay.

I've had good luck with ONR. Pre-treat with it, let is soak for a bit, then wash with ONR as normal. +1 that a good lsp helps in future once it's done. One of the new waterless washes will make maintenance a snap with those two steps.

get a qick shut off valve, and firehose nozzle, you can control the flow of water and it works fine...................

As other have said APC with a brush if really dirty, for lighter stuff I just spray on some ONR solution and use a swisswax brush.

Actually very goo question! I tried cleaning Krown rust proofing from the dirty doors, not pretty! Screwed up everything and the bucket was nearly all oil. The job isnt done, but I will leave that stuff alone.

there are many ways to do this as people have said, but a quick ti[ if you decide to use a hose or pressure washer....turn the water and open the nozzle before directing the hose into the jam. if you aim at the jam first and then pull the trigger you will get much more backsplash onto yourself and inside the car

I rinse them with my pressure washer OFF. Clean with Optimum Power Clean and Swissvax brush.

I just use my wash mit, and do the jams first. Wipe them down, rinse your mitt, wipe again with your now soap free mitt as a rinse. Dry while you're drying the rest of the car. Works well for me, as I open the doors anyways to dry the roof ;)

use a pressurized sprayer...the one where u have to pump it (pressurize) from the top and then hold down the trigger which will give you a continuous stream of water like a garden hose...

i know what you are thinking, you jsut want a continuous stream of water so use the pressurized sprayer.

these work well for light rinsing or take a 1litre plastic soda bottle and drill a small hole in the cap, zep degreaser, tooth brush, rinse, then spray wax.

I just wash the jams, close the door and spray a stream of water into the tiny crack between the doors, gets most of the grime and dirt out.
