    Hi everyone!

OK so I finally got some time today to make a couple of videos on how to apply our nano sealants! We'll be making some more in-depth and professional ones later, but I've noticed a few people struggling with them lately so I figured I'd do some quick videos! Enjoy and watch in HD :)!

Jesse, is a small piece of microfiber or a cotton makeup pad your preferred tool for applying Rim Shield too? Are latex gloves adequate or do I need nitrile? So far I've been using latex gloves where the chemicals aren't too aggressive and I need maximum dexterity and saving my 15-mil nitrile gauntlet gloves for really nasty chemicals like wheel cleaners. It looks like you are using either 4-mil or 8-mil nitrile.

They both work very well, but I probably use the cotton pads more often. The MF pieces are good if you're not quite familiar with the product yet because you can easily over-apply this coating with a cotton pad. Yep these are 8-mil nitrile and I would suggest them for the glass and rim sealants; the others can be applied with latex!

Jesse do you suggest doing an IPA wipe before applying? If so, what dilution do you suggest? I watched the videos, but didn't hear anything about it. I just heard that it needs to be clean. TIA

curse it anyhow. The video just inspired me to polish the Cquartz off my wifes car and put Body Wrap on it.

jesse, my car is a week old, i am going to apply the BW some time next week. I know i have to do an IPA wipe, but before the wipe, do i have to apply any waxes or polishes? i was just curious because i didnt know if the BW will provide a deep shine with the added protection. Also, can BW be topped with wax?

I'm not Jesse but I'll let you know what he told me:) He stated it is a good idea to wash with an APC to remove any old LSP's or Oils that maybe on the paint then go and do an IPA wipe down prior to application. I am also hearing now that its suggested you heat the panel with a hair dryer, heat gun on a low setting or maybe a metro master blaster if you have one. This is to ensure that the paint is completely dry because in the pours of the clear coat there can be small microscopic particles of water that are still there even after you dry your vehicle, and if not dried you will get hazing during application because of the water that was trapped beneath Bodywrap. You can not apply any sealants, waxes, quick detailers, waterless washes, etc. to the paint prior to application it has to be completely clean and bare. You can polish the paintwork thats not a problem, but its suggested you do a APC wash after and IPA wipe down prior to application to remove the polish oils from the paint. And yes it provides a great shine on a freshly corrected vehicle:) Also after application it cannot be topped with any sealants, waxes, quick detailers, waterless washes, soaps with gloss enhancers, etc. You only need 2 Wolfs Chemical products to maintain Bodywrap which are:

    1. Nano Bathe (used for weekly washes and to maintain BW performance and look)
    2. Nano Quick Detailer (used only when needed i.e. to protect areas which have seemed to be lacking protection)

Hopes this helps and I am sure Jesse will chime in soon

Can you use ordinary car shampoo after application of the body wrap? Like Meguiars Gold Class?

    Hi!

You can technically, but the lifespan of the sealant will be greatly reduced. The surfactants and other cleaners in normal shampoos will "clog" the nano bridge that the sealant has made and therefore change the structure of it, and basically kill the lotus effect. We have a dedicated nano shampoo that's designed to preserve the coating and refresh it a bit ;)!

is it the same with wheels? Can I use P21S wheel gel or Sonax at full strength or diluted ratios?

    Thanks for answering my question!

What about quick detailers? I can only use the nano QD when claying a "body wrapped" car or for minor detail work?

No QD's! Unless it's our nano QD of course ;)! Polymer-based QD's will clog the nano bridge and kill the beading. But you will notice that with BW on, the need for claying will be greatly reduced :)!

How about using a ph neutral soap like autoglym?

It's not particularly the pH value that hurts it, it's the surfactants and other cleaners ;)

i like how Jesse is so active on the forums and replying to all the questions that others have about his products.

this is one reason why i picked up body wrap and the nano shampoo. :headbang:

so my question or assumption rather is: wolf's body wrap is the same "category" of LSP as Aquartz and Opti-coat.

is that a correct assumption? all 3 of them are the hard "nano" sealant coating which must be polished off in order to be removed.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

also, since BW comes in a bottle with no "spray" dispenser, would it be okay to transfer to a small spray bottle and dispense into a MF cloth that way? it would provide more even coverage when spraying onto the cloth rather than dispensing droplets of it from the bottle cap. anything bad/negative with the above approach?

Whatever happened to CQuartz? I see Phil no longer has it.

Don't quote me on it, but from what I have heard Opti-Coat is the only "permanent" coating on the market.

I love the Body Wrap. I was hesitant to try nano coatings for a while, but it is extremely easy to apply and work with. Really worth it for anyone that wants to try it out.

    Hi!

Glad I can be of service :)! Yes it would fall into the same category as the other nano sealants, but I think Opti-Coat is a different technology (don't know much about it though). The nano particles that it's made with are a solid matter and they're very hard, which is why the bond is so strong. Yeah I suppose you could put it in a little spray bottle that produces a fine mist, I don't see that would hurt anything! The only thing I could imagine that would be negative about that is that the solvents may dry faster on the way to the pad. The drops they're in keep the solvents tamed until it's on the paint, so exposing them to air will certainly make them dry faster... I'll have to give that a try myself :)
