How often do you wax your cars?

I put wax about every 2-3 months using Collinite 476 on my daily driver ES.

I recently saw a clip that had Paul Dalton say when he does one of his $5000 details, he takes about 64 working hours to complete.... so roughly between one week and two weeks depending on whether he's working on multiple cars at once.

What I thought was interesting, is that he says within those 2 weeks, he applies his $10k wax every 24 hours.... do you guys think that is excessive or does doing the application in such frequency really equate to better protection?

Just wanted to know your thoughts!

I wax my personal car quite a lot. But I wouldn't go as far as laying down a fresh layer every single day (24 hours)

For $5,000 I want as many coats of wax as he can humanly apply!!!

But I wax my car every 2-3 weeks. I just like to spend time on the car and topping it off with a fresh coat makes it looks even more beautiful!!

My wifes car has Bilt Hamber Auto Balm on half the car and Autoglym HD on the other I applied back in July, just now am I getting a very faint sign of wear, so why would I wax it more often? My car well I haven't driven my car it has been at work sittin as I have been driving loaner cars.

Wow that is def. Some impressive durability. How is it at resisting acid water etching?

Depends, on the car was once every 4-5 months and on the van once every 8 months, but the van is usually wearing Swissvax Shield which for durability is outstanding

Generally whenever I notice that water isn't beading on it as much as I would like it to...which varies depending on what wax I use. It's had two coats of Powerlock and one coat of Autoglym HD on it since some time at the end of February and no signs of wear yet. I also keep it topped off with a coat of DG Aquawax every time I wash it.

The car is driven every day but spends nights on the garage, washed weekly with ONR. Ver very very little water mark etching on the roof.

I slide my hand over the paint after a good wash and if its not feeling right i'll add a coat .. it only takes about 30 mins if your speedy but the results are well worth it. The best part is that because your keeping the paint relatively clean it makes "preventive maintenance" an easy chore..

I don't see the point in putting that much wax on. A coat of 845 topped with AG HD will last long enough to get pretty much anyone through the winter up here. I can see two or three coats, but thats it. Personally, I wax my car as often as I can as I love seeing a freshly wax/sealed car. I have about 30 waxes and multiple sealants so it never gets boring as some only last a month and other longer. Plus, rarely do I have the same product on the whole car. LOL

That's what I was thinking too... I just wanted to know what would be the point in "applying wax in 24 hour intervals"....seems like overkill.

This thread made me wax the wifes car. Took Zep citrus in a foam gun with CG citrus wash this yielded a weakend LSP but not fully removed so I sprayed the panels down with Zep Citrus 4:1 in a garden sprayer hosed off, light clay and 2 IPA wipe downs thanks guys lol. All that to apply CG Blacklight and V7

I usually wax them every 3-4 months, but I always use OCW after every wash. I'm planning on attacking both of my vehicles in a couple of weeks. I haven't been able to properly washed them since last November.
